    Vintage air vs. stock dilemma???

I’m still looking into which direction I want to go with my truck. It’s original compressor and some of the brackets are long gone, they could be somewhere in my dad’s barn but most likely not. I’d want the later style compressor anyway so I’d need to find those brackets also. The outside box...

    Cracked frame/shock mounts help

My shock mount holes were fine but I added the ORD mounts when I put the lift kit on it, it’s got to help prevent them from wear.

    Storage tray

When I got my truck from my dad last year it had that type of tray screwed to the back of the cab. It was full of junk, spiders, etc.. and was in badly broken. I tossed it and welded up the holes. If it was in good shape I would have considered keeping it.

    Cracked frame/shock mounts help

Those outside mounts are to reenforce the existing frame mount holes for the shocks. You’ll need to address the frame holes, add the fish plates, before adding the outside mounts.

    Seat identification

You can buy blocks of seat foam then custom cut it with an electric turkey carving knife… I know it sounds janky, but it’s actually how seat upholstery guys do it.

It may not be your windshield antenna.

I used to repair a lot of home stereo equipment and still do occasionally. Deoxit & FaderLube along with exercising each control is always what I do first, it solves many, many problems

Gas pedal is too far away for me

Several years ago I was looking at a really nice all original 67 Chevelle for sale. It had two 1/4” holes in the gas and brake pedals. I knew the guy selling it, he flips really nice cars. When I asked about the holes he opened the trunk. Laying there were two pieces of wood, they were about...

    Vibration at 2500 rpm

The rubber ring on the vibration damper deteriorates then it starts moving on the inner core. How about the motor mounts? What shape are they in?

    Child Seat Anchors

Buckle her up! No seriously, I'm visualizing the child seat going between the adults on the bench seat, is that correct? Floor mounts could be welded in fairly easily, also in the back of the cab in the double walled area below the window.

    Fixing large door/cab gap.

To me that gap is great. How does the door to rocker gap look? The hinges can easily be opened up for more adjustment. I’m fighting the door to body gap at the striker area. I fabbed some pieces to go on the body there, plug welded them in place.

1978 GMC K25 power steering question?

Did you get the right pump when replacing it? Later model pumps used O-ring fittings. A ‘78 should be flared fittings on the pressure side of pump and both fittings on the steering gear box. Don’t over tighten them and distort the flare. The return line on the pump should have a worm gear clamp.

    ORD Springs

My ORD springs weren’t custom, just the economy whatever brand they sell. Supposed to be 4” measures about 6” but the the chassis has no weight on it yet, it’ll be a while before I assess the ride.
