    Hood not sitting flush

I replaced the hood on my 84, with an original hood but I still can't get the back to sit down flush. Someone mentioned shimming the cowl panel. Anyone ever done that? I also have to slam the hood to get it to latch. I think I may have to spend some time messing with it

    Bent bumper

How are you all getting rid of this type of bend in the bumper? I tried my 10K capacity cargo tie down strap around a large pine tree branch today an didn't even budge it. I don't need it perfect, just a little flatter/straighter. My next option is to use my strap and wrap it around the bumper...

    Fender Antenna

My 84 Sierra came with a fender mounted antenna, but it's gone. My new windshield came with the antenna in it. I've tried caps to fill the hole but nothing works. I'm going to replace the fender with an oe one without the hole then sell the original

Looking for a decent bench seat cover that doesn't break the bank...

I know but as much as I use my truck, the cloth doesn't hold up very well, unfortunately. I can look into a solid type of cloth material that doesn't have pleats. Maybe a commercial grade cloth. This is what my seat looks like now after 5 years

Looking for a decent bench seat cover that doesn't break the bank...

A friend of mine here in Cottonwood does interiors, and I'm going to have her do my bench with Blue marine grade vinyl. Right now it's blue cloth and unfortunately it's splitting.(Truck has been in AZ most of it's life and sat in the sun unprotected for 5 years). I've had this lady do my old ^5...

    Adjuster tool for drum brakes

Is there a specific tool to adjust the drum brakes? I tried using a slotted screwdriver but it was too long with the wider blade, and the short one had a small blade but kept coming off the star wheel. Thanks

Front seat simple swap? Is there such a thing?

I would love to add these type of seats to my 84, but a couple of questions first. First, does anyone just sell the mounting brackets to go between these and the original holes in the floor? I don't have any welding skills, and cant afford to have someone make them for me(Only one working as...

Need photo of mounting arrangement for driveshaft center bearing

This is my 84 C20, long bed. Hopefully you can see the U shape channel that the carrier bearing mounts to. I also added some pics of my transmission mount. I had the round one on it originally, but the new round one wouldn't tighten up, so I went with the rectangular unit. I think I got it from...

    Brake issue

Hello everyone. Im having an issue with my left tear drum brake. I teplaced all the hardware including wheel cylinders last week. Now every once in awhile the LR locks up, but not every time. I also had a hard time getting the drum off even after loosening the adjuster. Am I missing something...

Build your own spark plug wires?

Anyone ever use the build your own wire kits from Amazon? The sets from Autozone royally suck! Some of those are way too long or too short. I'm thinking of getting these and making them myself. I have stock manifolds right now but found a set of ram horns on a 70's C8000 that I will eventually...

    behind seat storage

Was wondering if anyone re makes the behind the seat storage boxes? I saw this one online and it's made by DeeZee. I went to their website, but they don't have them. I don't have much in the way of carpentry skills so wouldn't know how to go about making one.

    Bed disassembly

The only thing I'm replacing is the front panel. I'll find an original piece to replace the damaged piece. I want to take it apart so I can do a good clean up on the parts and paint them before reassembling it all.

    Bed disassembly

I have an 84 Sierra long bed that has a bad front panel. Someone in the past had something slide forward and hit it and it pulled the bolts out of the metal, so I'm needing to replace it. While I'm at it, I'm thinking of completely taking the bed apart for cleaning and dent removal. My question...

    Tail light modification

I painted the insides of taillight housings with gloss white. Made them a whole lot brighter. I did the same on my old 65 Suburban as well. Those housings were anodized metal but the white made the light much brighter. I also wax the lenses inside and out to bring back the red color after it...

Suggestions on primer for my topper

Nice truck sir. Looks great. I'm going to do the same with mine. The blue I'm going to use is Strata Blue, actual USAF blue, and the topper will be the same. I'm making a re creation of an old flightline vehicle, complete with a lightbar with amber lenses, and serial number on the doors. Serial...

    Looking for a softer ride

I'm running about 65 PSI in the rears and about 45 in the fronts. I was hoping for just a smidge better mileage but no luck, lol. The front shocks we're replaced a couple years ago, but they are already leaking. I don't think they were the right ones. They look more like small car shocks. Back...
