What have you done to your square lately??

Wires, vacuum lines, etc etc haha

What have you done to your square lately??

When I went to move it to the barn it kept stalling and then ran perfect for 5 minutes. Backed it into the barn and it died. Now it will fire for a second and then die. Haven't had the time to diagnose yet. Something built a nest in the hood insulation and was storing acorns in there. I am...

What have you done to your square lately??

Today I stood in front of it cussing and throwing the hood insulation in a pile on the ground. The transmission r&r has been delayed by the no-longer-runs problem.

How do I remove this lift kit? 78 K20

David, that is your blueprint. :grd: Invest in a couple cans of PB Blaster and soak everything that has a thread or exposed bolt hole. Might as well spray your springs, parking brake cable covers, and hood hinges while you are at it.

Thoughts/Feedback on running with inner tubes

Once again HK hits it right on the head! And you are doing exactly what I was going to recommend, buff the insides smooth and install patches. Moisture and glue leads to rubbing, rubbing leads to heat and tube failure. So after you patch the holes, let everything dry and apply baby powder to...

    K5 clunk sound on potholes

Just out of curiosity, how far are your spring eyelets from the frame?

K5 Blazer (1/2 ton) frame question

I like where you are going with your Blazer. Sounds like a bulletproof build. Do it! It is cheap and easy to do, so why not address it and never have to worry. The cab and chassis trucks, c/k30 that actually worked, and anything with a snowplow were notorious for the steering box frame cracks...

Pickup Body to Suburban Frame Swap?????

The frame and suspension from my 1978 k20 Suburban ended up under an 85 c10 pickup. The front frame was cut off where it straightens out on both trucks and welded with gussets under the c10. The rear suspension was removed from the frame by drilling the rivets and then bolted in the factory...

    Cruising Under Stall RPM- TH350

I have been working on an associates project with a similar setup. The vehicle is 4k lbs, 383 10.8 238/246 duration with 700r4 and 3.08 gears. The owner wanted a racecar that got good gas mileage. He got a mismatched pig that is not good at anything. The builder used a 1200rpm towing converter...

    Lowering a 4x4??? I don't get it!!!

Should there be titles or groupings for vehicle modifications? For example: 1) WTF? (were they thinking) ....Slammed 4x4s, cambered stance cars, most ricers, etc 2) Ugly baby ...Umm, that's different but I see where they are going 3) Classic Rock ...they stuck to classic mods that are...

    Lowering a 4x4??? I don't get it!!!

As a reformed Camaro with air shocks, keystones & N50s, glasspack stingers on the headers and the "CAMARO" sticker across the windshield owner, I can say that trends come and go. Practicality and coolness did not coexist in my world. I get the mindset, I do. How you do you is your business...

    Lowering a 4x4??? I don't get it!!!

I was contemplating my morning commute through the guidance of some Dio- Holy Diver this morning and along comes a mega-lifted mall crawler. Young guy, blaring something indiscernible due to the volume, and passing stopped traffic in the soon-to-end on ramp merge lane. Now, normally I try to not...

Slight is an understatement !!! Narrowed 12 bolt with big bearing ends to eliminate the c-clips is next.

I put the big and littles on the 72, just for fun. Looks like a 70s high school hot rod. It is not a square body. :)

Long time member/site creeper, first time posting. I like big blocks, manual valve body turbo 400's, and long drives with the vent windows open. I found my current girl in a swamp in South Florida. She resisted coming with me, but I dragged her home. She was a dirty old girl and just needed some...

    Chinese Ebay Headers....

You seem like the kind of person that doesn't mind a little "sweat equity" so why not buy a used set of headers and clean them up? I found a set on C.List for $45, just needed a good wire brushing and some paint. If you are hesitant about the correct fitment, do an online search of the part...
