    Ls1 block score!

ah okay I have a set of LS1 pistons and rods I got off of ebay for $230. I cleaned them up with looking at making a 5.7L out of a 5.3L block on a 3rd project. Then I read up on the weakness of the stock LS1 rods/pistons, so I don't know if I want to OEM on that or not. If you are going to do...

    Ls1 block score!

The stock bore of a LS1 is 3.898" (most just call it 3.90" for short). The max overbore is 3.905", though some do 3.902" to be safe. A good hone job will "bore it out" but I would leave that to the machine shop. If it is still within STD limits, you can use that to build a 383 in the LS...

Costs and Parts for 5.3 swap

Well I have logged most of the parts for my 1984 K1500 upgrade to a 5.3L engine. I shared a dropbox link below and I will leave it there for awhile. Would like to upload it, but the forum does not allow for non-pics. It is XLS spread sheet. Contains parts, cost of when I bought the parts, part...

LS Swap engine adapters. Which ones?

I went with the Dirty Dingo as well, and yes I had to cut a bit out of the crossmember for the driver's side front point of the engine doesn't hit. I also pushed the motor BACK, so that my driveline is in the proper place. All else seems just fine. dougbert
