I traced the pink power wire all the way to the front of the truck and it looks good.

    Fuel Gauge Issue

I tested the sending unit. That was part of the problem. I then grounded the new sender out and it didn’t move the needle on the gauge. To me, it’s telling me that the gauge itself needs replaced.

    Fuel Gauge Issue

Hi all. My 1985 Sierra Classic that I own again after selling it 11 years ago has always had a problem with the fuel gauge, even when I first bought it 30 years ago. The gauge works properly on occasion, but most of the time it read well past full. I ran it out of fuel literally about a...

    Got It Back

Here are before and after pics of the same panel before and after correction. My reflection was non-existent before and pretty clear after.

Thanks! I’m pretty sure it never saw wax in the 11 years that the next owner had it.

    Got It Back

I agree, it does look lower than four inches. The axle has not been flipped. Lift blocks are a good idea. Thanks!

What have you done to your square lately??

I removed rusty front inner fenders and installed new ones today. It looks so much better.

    Got It Back

I think I want to level the truck by raising the rear about two inches. It has a Belltech 6800 shackle/hanger kit. I’ve been told that a two inch drop shackle won’t give me the desired lift because the hangers have been relocated. Any suggestions for how to raise the rear the desired two inches?

    Got It Back

It’s certainly pretty cool to have it back. No, the GS isn’t going anywhere! It’s been my dream car since I was a teenager.

Thanks for the welcome. The front springs are stock height. It I was to cut them (with a death wheel, to avoid heat buildup) to achieve a 2-inch drop, how many coils should I cut? Or would you recommend getting drop springs? I kinda like the height at the rear of the truck, so I just want to...

Good point. It had a different cap when I first bought it 30 years ago. I used it to keep my stuff out of the weather for those trips back and forth to university. Handy, for sure.

    Got It Back

Hi all, this is my first post to the forum after joining about a month ago and I have enjoyed looking through the various threads. Anyway, here’s a short-ish story about my ‘85: I learned about a month ago that the ‘85 GMC Sierra Classic 1/2 ton that I owned for 19 years and sold 12 years ago...
