    85 GMC crew cab

Still think you got sold half a headlight. All the headlights I ever bought used the whole light for low or high. LOL

    Right rear wheel locking up

Things that bother me... PO that don't do maintenance on their vehicles. I don't think those brakes were ever serviced. Maybe it's just me, but the brake cylinder only looks like it has one push rod for the front brake shoe and not both.

Welcome to the site. Great find. I'm not sure if you know this... but either someone sold you only half headlights or companies are really cutting back on costs...

Truck 10 bolt or Truck 12 bolt

    3 options, 14 bolt FF, 9" or Dana 60. The 10 or 12 bolt weren't meant for 800 HP.

    Hard accelerator pedal

It could be the carb. But for my better understanding, you disconnected the accelerator cable from the carb and the gas pedal and moved it back and forth with your hand? The bottom cable would either be a kickdown cable for the transmission if automatic or cruise control if equipped...

Before you string me up ..

Lift blocks on a front axle is never a good thing. Obviously, the taller block the more the law of physics multiples. Example: the brakes are on the axle level, the mass that the brakes have to stop is exponentially higher the taller the block. The only item holding that mass are 4...

    Down on power, sounded different.

How many miles are on the engine? Is it fresh, 100K, 200K? Possibilities of build up on the valve seats? Vacuum hoses hard or cracked? Timing set correct, when was it last checked? Often too long, owner's will mistake a properly functioning fan clutch as a loss of power or slipping...

    Right rear wheel locking up

I would suggest doing the axle seals as well.

    Dana 44 front on a 1981?

IIRC, HDs where used in 1Ts until 77 when they started to install Dana 60s in 1Ts.

    Dana 44 front on a 1981?

Good thought, but the flattop knuckle for the passenger side was only up to 76 or 77 vehicles. So they would have to locate a flattop right side knuckle or buy an aftermarket knuckle. From the pictures, he doesn't have a flattop on the R/S.

    Dana 44 front on a 1981?

Nothing is impossible. But chances are that your "all original" is not all original. Even if you bought it brand new, it could have had an issue during pre-delivery inspection and that's what the dealer had on hand. Who knows?

    Educate me on sanders

Well, let the education begin... Sanders is a patronymic name, meaning son of Alexander. The name derives from the abbreviation xander, with Alexander deriving from the Greek "Ἀλέξανδρος" (Aléxandros), meaning "Defender of the people" Barry Sanders - U.S. football player. Bernie Sanders - U.S...
