The frames rot behind the front wheels where it kicks out towards the rocker panels. The front tires kick up dirt/salt whatever and the frame takes it hard. Look there really good just to make sure. I also am a fan of the gmt400’s for their looks and simplicity.
Abs is very simple on those, got...
plates don’t follow the vehicle in Maine. Guy I bought it from never registered it. It’s a project he never got to it.
moral of the story is yes, I got lazy while doing paperwork at the guys house and we didn’t complete the bill of sale. My bad for sure.
you gotta read my first post again. I have found the vin on the frame but it’s a partial vin. With help, I’ve not been able to put together the complete vin that I need.
up here any vehicle older than 96 we don’t need a title. Not only do you not need a title, the state WILL NOT issue a title...
The tag in the door jamb is missing on my truck. The frame is literally mint condition and I’ve found the vin number is two places clear as day. It’s only 9 digits. I know older trucks don’t have the 17 digit standardized VIN. Just want to make sure 9 is enough and the same that you guys have...
The heater box in my truck has been just demolished by mice. It was completely full of nests and has rotted out most of the metal doors and dividers in there. The plastic housing is fine so even just the metal pieces would be fine. That would make things easier to ship too I’d think. I did...
Back on topic…..
Look what I got by accident today. A fuel filter for the quadrajet that has a built in check valve. Pretty sweet. I’ll be putting this in soon to try out. I was going to buy an external check valve but no longer need to.
ben.
Here’s the difference between stock and “high flow needle seat”. Stock fuel would have to defy gravity and jump up to flow back out the needle. New style can run out the side window area. That’s what came in my kit, I didn’t order it specifically for more power or anything. This may be the...
I could try a check valve to see if that helps. The new needle and seat is the “window” style so if a little fuel does boil off (which I believe it does) then when the float drops, the rest of the fuel can easily drain back through the opening in the bottom of the seat fitting/insert thingy...
What I’m getting at is how many days does your q-jet hold fuel so when you go to start it and pump the throttle, it’s actually squirting fuel? My 82 with a Holley will last literally the better part of a month before I have extended cranking to get fuel to the bowl and accelerator pump. My 86...
Where did you get patch panels that thick? I need some floor supports inner and outer rockers and cab corners. I’d rather get thick stuff if that’s snootily.

ok gotcha. That’s a bummer. I guess I’d make some strips like the one that divides the front and rear section, and at each cross brace in the roof, I’d screw to that. It’d look decent and keep the headliner up.
Is it the fabric that’s sagging or the actual cardboard backing? My headliner was sagging in my 87 and I just recovered it myself with new headliner fabric. The cardboard was in great shape. Yes I’m in Maine and not down south but the truck is originally from down south until last year. It’s a...
I’ve had pick up tubes in my big rigs crack and will suck air before fuel. Most crack at the top so they just suck air. But I’ve had one crack half way
Down so full tank it ran fine, half tank nope. Just an idea.
I big on diagnosing problems and not just throwing parts. But at this point, you...
The 76 3/4 ton I just got has a 203 that the previous owner put spicer manual locking hubs on but seems to not have done the part time conversion. Which is fine with me. I’d rather have the transfer case stock and not deal with oiling issues like the part time conversion has.
