    So you mean that just because the Edelbrock worked better than the 40-year-old carb, doesn't mean I should get it? Just trying to clarify, lol. The qjet will be better for my truck because that's what its built for, even if an Edelbrock works just fine compared to my old one, is what you're saying?

    im also looking into just a carb replacement once i can save up enough. i was looking at the Edelbrock Carbs, but dont really know what im looking for, but know they have good carbs. the one i have right now is 4 barrel, electronic choke if that helps anything

    Also, i believe I have a 700R4 transmission on a 91 3500 that I'm parting out. would that be any good for my goals? or should I sell and go with the 4L80E? I currently have a TH400 3-speed Automatic no OD on my C20.

    Ok so I answered my own question I think, 4L80E is electronic transmission and 4L80 is not? or is 4L80 not even a thing as in there is only an electronic transmission?

    okay, thanks alot. that answers my question of where to start, which would be the heads if im understanding you correctly then the cam and then gear ratio. how should i incorporate the intake manifold carburetor and others (as in aftermaket) ? ive heard it should all be a package kinda.

    it sounds silly but I'd rather stick with carburation than go with fuel injection grated yes i know it's more efficient and powerful (I think). I'm really just trying to get the best out of the carburation I suppose. thanks for the recommendation though

    would it be better to get dished pistons if I don't have them already? I haven't torn into my engine due to convenience and time so I don't exactly know whats in there yet.
