I ran a wire from the ign on the board in the cab to the coil +. I had 12v at the coil + when I used my meter on the coil + and the - distributor harness ground connected to the frame. I pulled no1 spark plug. I turned it over and had spark on the head. I reinstalled no1 spark plug. I tried...

Should there be a dedicated +12v ign wire? There is not. Can I run a spade/wire from the ign on the board in the cab? Or Run a wire from the starter?

When I got the truck it was in bad shape. It basically had the short block and trans. I had to buy a new engine harness. The distributor and coil are wired together correctly through the supplied pigtail and the center power wire. With the key in “on” position there is 0v at the + on the...

The rotor is turning. Ok. I’m missing something here… The distributor connects to the blaster ss coil via the distributor’s 3-wire connector (which becomes 2 wires at the coil) and the main center plug. There’s nothing else connected to either. How do they get their power? Do I need to run a...

Hello, My truck is a ‘77 c10 with 400/th350. The engine is rebuilt. Basically everything under the hood is brand new. First time trying to fire up the engine- Fill carb bowls, turn key, there was a “pop!” and just turn over without firing. I thought that maybe the timing was off. Went through...

    Steering Box Screw

Is there supposed to be a cap over the screw to cover the Allen head?

    Steering Box Screw

Ah, it is an Allen head. But from the second pic that I posted, it looks like there’s a cap or something missing??

    Steering Box Screw

Hi Guys, I don’t know how this screw/bolt came off. I can’t find it. I think it’s supposed to be the adjusting screw. I’ve looked all over. Do you know where I can get a replacement? Thank you!

    Noob Driveshaft ??’s

Hey All, My truck is a ‘77 C10 sbc400/th350. I need a driveshaft. I think I’ve confused myself. To measure the length of the driveshaft that I need, I measured from the trans housing to the yoke on the rearend. That’s 72.5”. That is how you measure your length, correct? When I measured...

    Trans kickdown and speedometer cable

Hi guys, My truck is a ‘77 C10 sbc400/th350. The truck was fairly stripped when I got it. I’m confused about what kind of trans kickdown linkage and speedometer cable I need. There’s no trans kd linkage there. There are a few options, I think, online. There is an upper half of a Speedo cable...

    Distributor/ignition and wiring

https://www.ebay.com/itm/231510585368 So I would use a switch like this^^ Run my oil sensor wire to one connector and then run a wire from the other connector to the choke?

    Distributor/ignition and wiring

What if I have a mechanical gauge? I did try a reducer/adapter. But then the sensor was out of the head an inch or more.

    Distributor/ignition and wiring

The problem is that the port in my heads is 3/8”. I couldn’t find a sensor that would work that’s 3/8”. They’re all 1/2”. So I should run a jumper from the oil pressure switch to the choke?

    Distributor/ignition and wiring

So if I’m wiring this correctly (the engine harness was missing when I got the truck), the pink wire would go to the choke, blue wire would go to the oil sensor, green wire to water temp sensor…

    What is this harness?

Thank you! When I got the truck it didn't run. I trailered it home and that harness was cut off and the end just flopping around in the engine compartment.

    What is this harness?

Howdy, My truck is a '77 C10 Scottsdale sbc400. What is the 4 wire harness on the right? When I got the truck the harness was plugged in but the end was cut off so there's just 4 wires hanging there. I don't know what it's called or what it was supposed to connect to. Thank you for any help!

Engine temp and oil sensor- Noob questions

Hello All, My truck is a '77 C10 Scottsdale Sbc400/th350. I think I've confused myself. Which oil pressure device do I need- an oil pressure sending unit or a oil pressure sensor? Can I use both? Does it depend on my gauges? Also, which temp device do I need- an engine coolant temperature...
