    Tune up, than banging sound?

Ya that's the best / easiest way to do it.

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

I'm sure you are right, and given that I have traditional running boards on my truck where I can pivot my foot sideways where as on a tube I fall off lol.

    Tune up, than banging sound?

Can you record the sound like maybe a short video and post it up? I feel it's like taking a stab in the dark without being able to hear it.

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

Gee thanks but I've already got a pair of cats. I just need to find the time to install them! Your right about those chrome side pipes, but I'd have to pull the running boards and then what do I use to get my fat ass in the truck? (Don't worry I still have a couple inches between my belly and...

    Double Dingo's 1991 Jeep Cherokee

Unfortunately I'm quite sure your right. I just had a discussion with a couple of the guys at the shop and we have noticed more and more vehicles with expired tabs, one guy has noticed his room mate who never wears his seat belt has stopped getting tickets for that the last few years, and I've...

Low Hump to High Hump Conversion

If I were doing the conversion to high hump, I'd want to bolt it down as well. I'm also going to throw this out. I'd want to seal the hump. Maybe Butyl Sealing Rope. Wouldn't want it to be glued like you'd get with RTV if you needed to remove it one day, and that stuff is pretty forgiving if...

    Double Dingo's 1991 Jeep Cherokee

@DoubleDingo @squaredeal91 I think there are a couple things going against sealed beams. First of all I like them for there simplicity. I see people with modern vehicles sometimes spend more than $500 to get new housings because the plastic is cracked, or the lenses are yellowed, or there is...

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

I still have the cats and I still haven't gotten the time to install them. I did do the valve cover gaskets, and the drivers side one was leaking at least a little, but the smell has persisted. I could see that there was some residue around the breather tube, but it didn't run down the valve...

    Double Dingo's 1991 Jeep Cherokee

It's really quite the difference isn't it. Are you running the hella bulbs that came with the buckets, or Sylvanias? As a little did you know question, the last vehicle to roll out of the factory with sealed beam headlights was the 2017 express van with the commercial package, but the other...

    Sliding Window Restoration Tips Please?

Oh ya my Dad had a single pane in his 78, IDK I think he installed it around 84ish, black and slightly tinted just like the modern ones.

    Sliding Window Restoration Tips Please?

My suggestion is to glue that loose piece of rubber down, and brush the other side, I still can't remember what that's called, but it's a bristly thing that helps with sealing and rattles. After the glue is dry on the rubber part treat it with silicone spray a couple times. From bit I can see...

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

Yes they do to a point. I know guys move them forward from the factory location, but since I still have a functioning air pump, and my old cat worked fine in the factory location it should be fine, my only concern is since it's dual exhaust now less overall exhaust will be flowing though it...

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

Got the cats in this afternoon about 3pm. Went with Magnaflow units I'll try to remember to grab the #'s off the boxes. I laid under the truck for a few minutes after work. I really wanted to install them them, but it ended up being planning time instead which I guess is okish. I can get the...

What new tools have you got lately?

I was in HF the other day, picking up rubber gloves, a tarp and a couple other misc stuff. Always have to visit the clearance / open box shelf, but rarely is there anything I want. Well there was a 1/2 cordless bauer impact for $35. Other guys at the shop have tool truck brands of cordless...

    Sliding Window Restoration Tips Please?

@JamesSam I have what I think is a factory sider in my truck so it may differ a little from yours. I would not recommend lubing the slides if it's just a metal slide. Mine is metal frame and slides. Instead of rubber seals around the sliding panes it has... A material I cannot remember the...

Softopper - I've been waiting for

Thanks. My experience with the foam stuff is it's great for sealing house doors and things like campers (or the rails on a softopper), but don't hold up to use on things that move on automobiles. I think I know the rubber stuff your talking about, but I just replaced the back hatch seal on my...

Softopper - I've been waiting for

@77 K20 I wasn't very careful about making sure that the top rails rested on the bulkhead of the bed when I was putting it up, so I need to fold down the topper and see where it lands. Regardless it seem to stay back there just plain and stable as can be. I've had it to 70 mph so far. Good...

Softopper - I've been waiting for

Ok, I didn't use a torque wrench either, I really think I'm in the ball park or if anything maybe a little on the tight side, but like I said earlier I'm just going to have trust issues with the clamps until I get use to them. I actually new the PO of my truck. But kind of lost touch with him...

Softopper - I've been waiting for

That sounds like me when I use to run a hard shell on my Dodge, I always had it on when I needed it off or visa versa, I didn't use to have a problem pulling it on and off by myself as it was one of those aluminum skinned ones and was fairly light weight, but it just became to much of a pain...

Softopper - I've been waiting for

My problem isn't that I can't drink at 8AM, my problem is that after that first drink at 8AM I'm then required to keep a small flow of booze all day, but if I at least wait until mid-afternoon....

Softopper - I've been waiting for

My thoughts so far: All the hard shell canopies I've had in my life ALL of them have been drilled and bolted though the frame rail. The softopper came equipped with clamps. The clamp has a C - shaped end that goes over the square aluminum tube which is the part of the frame that sits on the...

Softopper - I've been waiting for

@Grit dog Honestly I don't care if it stays as tight as it is, it's entire life as long as I don't have a snap pull though. And given that I was able to snap the hardest snap, with just a bit of a pull in 45F weather I'm sure it's fine, and even if I did have a snap pull though, it's just...

    Double Dingo's 1991 Jeep Cherokee

That's interesting on the separation. If your anything like me where you night vision isn't as good as it once was those Hellas will spoil you and the lights on your other vehicles will seem subpar.
