    Blow Out Ruined My Truck

Had an unexpected blow out yesterday about a mile and a half from home. Only travelling about 40 mph and stopped within seconds but the tire came apart and damaged the shit out of my box side. Ripped the front and rear bright metal moldings off, folded the lower rear quarter, tore the front...

    Axle Tube Leaks

Thanks for the advice, but if I get another differential I could run the same risk of leaks as this one.

    Axle Tube Leaks

The tubes only have the spot weld from the factory. They seem to be leaking pretty much all the way around the tubes. Pressure washed them clean yesterday. And yes, they're leaking enough that they actually have a drip.

    Axle Tube Leaks

Hi Guys, It looks like my front and rear diffs are both leaking where the axle tubes are welded to the differential center. Is this a common leak area? Truck was a one owner, never abused, with very little off road use. So I think I can rule out bent axle tubes. Your thoughts? Greg

Want to get rid of my 16.5's

Hi Guys, Anyone have a used set of 8 lug Jackman style spoked wheels they'd like to part with? I'm looking for a used set (4) of spoked wheels, white or chrome. Paint condition doesn't matter, as long as they're not bent. 15 inch or 16 inch, NOT 16.5. I want to get rid of the...

    white smoke and fuel smell

Bryan, As others have said here, white smoke is usually an indicator of coolant in the combustion chamber. Quick and positive test for this, if you have access to anyone with a scope that has an exhaust analyzer (the probe that fits in the tail pipe). Remove the radiator cap when...

    Bolt in electric fans?

fussfeld, I have a 1968 Firebird 400 that runs hot. I installed a 15" electric fan about 2 months ago that works fine. It installs with 4 plastic ties through the radiator core. I have decided to go a different direction with the car now. If you're interested, let me know...

Blinker fuse blows when put in reverse

Start by removing BOTH back up light bulbs, shift to reverse and see if you still have the problem.

    Hi There!

I'm looking for a set of wheels for my truck so I can get rid of the 16.5's but I guess I'm not allowed to post in the WANTED section until I have 50 posts. So, seeing as I don't have enough valid, interesting info to fill 50 new posts, I will beg your forgiveness with these posts until I reach...

    Hi There!

Pics as promised. The bed was covered with a rubber mat since new, so it's still pretty much dent free with original paint.

Thanks George, I will post pics tomorrow. I should have thought of that before it got dark here tonight!

    Hi There!

New to this forum, but not new to Chevy trucks. I spent many years with the General, mostly as a heavy line tech (engine & transmission) for just about every GM platform produced during my tenure. Loved the introduction of the new body for '73 and have owned several of them over the years...
