Any muscle car fans out there

This hair-dryer car is a blast to drive! I drove it to church Sunday twice to repent of sins I may commit with it! Strickland

70 Malibu is on my bucket list. I had a 70 El Camino but have never owned the 70 Malibu. That's nice.

See if you can source some stock springs. The K30 or D30 in your case sit higher due to the massive size of the Dana 60 & frame height. If your Square is a 10 or 20 it'll still be high enough to clear 33's with stock springs. I have 33's on my '82 K15 Diesel with stock springs. HS

    K20 vs. K30 Difference

Those pics supplied were a short frame, a 14SF rear and 10 bolt front. Another post came in and said it was an HD. Square root replied back as well as me to this post.

    K20 vs. K30 Difference

No problem at all. Someone else posted that the truck in the pic was HD but it's the opposite. That's what I pointed out. HS

    K20 vs. K30 Difference

I don't see any K30 pieces (frame, differentials) in the pics supplies in the post. Another poster had replied that it was the HD K20 and that is not is what is in the pics supplied. I have a '79 K20 now that is a 10 bolt front and 14FF rear and have never seen a K20 with a front Dana 60. Dodge...

Dana 44 dust shield on backing plates

The solid backer should work. The caliper piston is all that's different between K10-20 if memory serves me correctly. I do believe the spline is different on the Dana/Corporate spiders too. HS

Dana 44 dust shield on backing plates

Dana/Spicer is the same outfit. I have seen some of the components from Dana and AAM Corporate have the "Briggs & Stratton" logo cast on them as well. The internals are different on the axles though. The carrier, R&P, spiders and axle shafts are all different. The knuckles are different too BUT...

    K20 vs. K30 Difference

What is in the photos is LD 3/4 ton. 10 bolt front diff with 9.5 SF 14 bolt rear. The SM465/NP205 combo is fantastic and the brake calipers on the front have the larger piston along with larger brake shoes on the rear; but it definitely isn't a Dana 60 front and 14FF rear with 13" brakes. That's...

Dana 44 dust shield on backing plates

The spindles carry different wheel bearings. You can use everything from the knuckle out on either axle, but I'd keep track of what's used to make it easy for replacement parts in the future. I like the solid backers on corporate axles but like the strength of Dana internals & axle shafts...

Dana 44 dust shield on backing plates

I love the Dana 44 but the backing plates on them are not as good as the GM Corporate. The last 44 I fixed I actually used the plates from the Corporate axle. They are much more sturdy. HS

What have you done to your square lately??

I'd love to go but I am extremely busy during October-December. Denton is only a couple hours from me and I carried my '85 CUCV there several years back when they were hosting the Military Eq. show. Maybe I'll make it; I'd love to have my dad's old crew ready but that ain't going to happen...

What have you done to your square lately??

I am getting the interior buttoned up on the '82. It's a hodge-podge of used and leftover parts. I haven't spent much money on it but I certainly have a lot of time invested. I just got a DMV letter yesterday so maybe I'll have the title for it in a couple weeks. NCDMV are real sticklers when a...
