I can’t remember where I saw it but someone swapped a vortec 8.1l into their square and it was freakin cool. Apparently it’s an easier swap than a regular ls swap too cause the motor mount positions are the same as gen 1 small blocks and I think there was another reason but I can’t remember...- smurfasaur

Ok so for the first startup I just took off the front driveshaft so both the o2’s will fit in their bungs. Going to tackle building the exhaust after I make sure my harness and fuel system will run. Dang I wish I knew about those headers you’re describing before I bought mine! Mine are no name eBay headers but they’re actually pretty nice and they’re stainless, just don’t fit great haha I’m going to try to make it work with the ones I have first and if I can’t I’ll definitely look into...- smurfasaur

I don’t think rotating the collector will work because there is a pretty good jog in them to the drivers side... maybe if I had a welder that could do stainless. Capping off the old bung won’t work either unfortunately because the cap actually won’t fit on with the front driveshaft hooked up to...- smurfasaur

So I got the passenger side headers installed and the O2 sensor bung is about 1/8” away from my front driveshaft. The collector kind of has a little swoop in it towards the driveshaft and is about 10” Long so I was originally thinking that I would just cut off about 8” of the collector and then...- smurfasaur

If you can start it up and hear it run with no smoke or weird noises, and it passes other inspections (good looking plugs, no water or other crap in oil, no oil in coolant, all accessories included and in decent shape, etc), I would probably offer a max of $900. (Seems Like) A Good Price for a Lift

Toggle switch ignition?
Do you want to be able to start the truck or just engage the starter? I think if you want to isolate the starter just put power to the purple wire going to your starter solenoid. Turn the truck on I’m not sure Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- smurfasaur

I’ve seen posts and YouTube videos of guys claiming to do a swap for under $1000 counting selling old parts. These days it seems you have to get pretty lucky finding a good pullout motor with all the accessories and harness etc in order to make that realistic though. Not impossible if you can...- smurfasaur

Theoretically I can imagine how that may happen over time if the rubber is pretty deteriorated already when you goop them, but it seems like there wouldn’t be any acceleration if you’re starting with decent mounts. I dunno there’s a poop ton of people who swear by it. They even did it on Hot Rod...- smurfasaur
