    Front Drive Shaft Rebuild

Now just reinstall your drive line the same way you took it out, and enjoy that super quiet 4WD. Then have another Genny or two for a job well done.

    Front Drive Shaft Rebuild

Now reinstall your double cardan joint. The center ball will slip in to your seal, just be a little careful. Installing the cardan/ujoints can be a little tricky, but just go slow. I took the caps off, slid the joint in to place, and put the caps back on. Then I tapped the caps in with a hammer...

    Front Drive Shaft Rebuild

The ball will pop right in and out of the seal, which is good because it actually needs attached to the long end of your drive line. You'll have to remove the old ball, which was kind of a bitch because it's pressed on. I used a series of open end wrenches with a hammer to pop it off. And a...

    Front Drive Shaft Rebuild

Make sure you have just the empty hole before you start. If not, you'll have to pry out the old seal first and then remove whatever parts you have. All I had was the seal ring left. I popped it out with some needle nose pliers. Now here's the order that this kit needs installed. I had some...

    Front Drive Shaft Rebuild

It's now that I realized there's a centering ball between this double cardan joint. All I have is the ball left. One end has the ball....... And one end is supposed to have a spring, seat, seal, etc. It's got nothing. There's a rebuild kit for this joint. It's moog part 606. Only...

    Front Drive Shaft Rebuild

So while having your beer, you should order the cardan joints you need. There's a double cardan in the rear at the transfer case, so you'll need 2 if you're doing both of them. It's moog part 534G for both. I'm not sure what the front is, but I'll look it up later. You're also going to want to...

    Front Drive Shaft Rebuild

Well, I had a clank clank clank only on 4WD. Found a reaaally sloppy/rusted out front left ujoint. It seriously needed fixed, but wasn't my problem. Put her up on stands, ran in 4WD, and the problem was obvious. The front drive shaft was flopping around like a fish. Here's how I fixed it. Step...

I'll have to ask her directly. It doesn't say on the post if she found it or not.

This is kinda funny. I just searched Facebook and found a post from my sister from 6yrs ago where she's tracking down the original owner of the mystery machine to borrow it for a day to take to an injured kid who loves Scooby Doo. LMAO..... I didn't even know she did that. That's hilarious.

It was really pretty cool, but he took a lot of flack for it. lol.... I should hit up Facebook and see if I can find him. Maybe he's still got a pic or two.

Haha.... There was actually a guy I went to hs with that painted his van exactly like the mystery machine. It didn't look that bad. I wish I could remember what kind of van it was.

As a dad, you're required to make at least one reference to the Mystery Machine today. A simple "to the mystery machine!" will suffice. :D

How to pick the right jack+stands

I just got a set of 6ton pro-lift stands from Amazon for cheap, and I'm actually surprised at the quality for $40. They're way better than the crappy Craftsman stands I've been using for years. Much heavier, better welds, and they have pins.

A pipe nipple and a couple of hose clamps will do it. Im not exactly sure what size the lines are, but yeah.

    A/C Drain

I pray every night to the Chevy gods that they don't make me do mine. Seems they've decided to give me everything else to do instead.

Yes, the heater would still work. Hot coolant flows through the heater core (basically a radiator thats inside the dash). Air flows past the hot coolant in the heater core, and gives you heat in the cab. You can bypass it by hooking the coolant lines together at the firewall. Two coolant lines...

    Haha....barely. Great minds, brother.

What have you done to your square lately??

Anyway, I got 2 new jack stands to hold the old girl up so I could run it in 4wd to figure out this noise. Turns out it's the front driveshaft joints.....possibly the ball seat/retainer. I tore the shaft out, took the first joint out, and realized there's no seat or spring for the center ball...

What have you done to your square lately??

I heard you could put rope down the cylinder and top it out to hold the valves up.

The Accord was an interference engine, and I have no clue how I didn't destroy it. I knew the belt was half shredded before it let loose, too. I guess I was just lazy and stupid, and had only paid 400 for the car like a year earlier so I didn't care? But it worked after I swapped it other than...

    Whatcha ridin?

Those GS BMWs have a pretty strong following. I just don't know much about them. I was really hoping the VFR was going to be my ST answer, but I don't know about that one. They were much smaller than I expected. Seems like honda isn't interested in the SPORT touring market.
