Eagle Field Old School Drags 10/6/12 near Fresno, CA.

I think I may go money's a little tight because the wife may take an unexpected trip back to KS. It's hard dragging her to my car stuff anyway. It's like taking me to the mall for her.

I did some reading on this you snd if are concerned about smog in CA. Pre-97 diesels are smog except. A 12 valve would be sweet. Not that I'm biased.

It is. It's just a small airport strip they close off and run. The charger was for sale for 9000. If I wanted a divorce I would have gone to the bank.

I don't remember this thing. I only saw front engined drags except the jr ones. It was really an unorganized event. No one was being timed and I don't think anyone was being eliminated unless something broke.

What engine was it running? I take it was front engined. Was it a 6? They ran a lot of straight 6s. I was going to ask if it was the pretty yellow late 70s short box square. There was only one of those that I saw. That was about the newest vehicle I saw. They tried to keep to real with the old...

    89Suburban's Wanted List

I think the guys on this forum are great. I am just a practical guy who needs a tow rig, so I don't have much to say about the old square bodies. I love my common rail dodge. It does everything I need. I can 300000+ before a rebuild and I am thinking I might go through it then. Whether it goes...

1988 suburban 4bta zf5 with front tilt fiberglass front

My priorities in life are changing so I am selling my suburban. It is a very unique build and gets a lot of attention. Imagine the conversation starter with this at a car show and the hood open. Everything is rebuilt from engine to driveshaft. It has an he341 from a common rail, an m&h stage 3...

    another Chevy Cummins swap

I've heard the bearings wearing out are an issue too. Go to this website and talk to some of the other guys swapping them into 4wd squares. http://www.4btswaps.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?14-Cummins-6BT-5.9-Conversions

    another Chevy Cummins swap

This is pretty fuzzy but you get the idea. I did this because the 4bt has so much more vibration then the 6er. 2 things I'm going to suggest you may already know. Take all the front clip off to get that engine if not you probably find out you are going to need to give up installing it and take...

    another Chevy Cummins swap

Yes mine was a tbi. I made my own crossmember. I used hydraulic motor mounts from a taurus to ease up some of the shake for the tranny. I have a 5spd from a 89 ford backing up mine. You will need to pull out your electric fuel pump and throw it in the trash. Take a 3/8 fuel line and extend it...

    another Chevy Cummins swap

Use your hot to the distributor for the fuel shut off on the ve pump. The Chevy sensors will fit for the water temp and oil pressure. You need a reducer for the water temp. I would recommend getting the bracket from www.autoworldmt.com if you wanna run you Chevy alternator and AC. Are you...

    Oldsmobile Engine Conversion

Maybe one of these days I'll take ya up on it. If I don't finish it he never will. I'll probably end up inherenting that car. The engine has been sitting for six years totally rebuilt. It doesnt have a stock cam and valve springs. I don't recall what they were anymore. Just an rv cam. I remember...

    smoking neg battery cable?

Pull the positive cable out and place a voltmeter between the battery post and the cable. If there is a reading you have a short. Then you will have to find the short by pulling wires until that reading goes away. Otherwise are your cables different sizes? That will change the amperage your...

    Oldsmobile Engine Conversion

I built one for my dad but it's going into a 52 olds 88. I'm not a tranny guy and it's been sitting bagged for years waiting for the 400 turbo to be built. The car use to be an old dirt racer. Its got the mad max frame and all. Should be a fun car if he he ever gets that tranny built. It will...

Dare I say; Redneck Hood Cowl...

I've actually done something similar. You can get inexpensive electric sheet metal sheers at harbor freight. They work pretty good. Should work well over a gas tank with no sparks. Just drill a hole first.
