So my 79 had cruise control and I'm doing the LS swap thing. I can't for the life of me find a diagram or description of what these factory cruise control wires are doing. 3 coming down column, looks like one was connected to a switch like the brake switch and that jumpered over to an IGN+...- SmashBack

New dash pad from Cheyenne Pickup
Yes it did finally arrive a couple of weeks ago. It looks incredible and is the right color. It's packed in the box but I will get some pics uploaded when I am able. -

Maybe that was a little ambiguous. By dropped in a meant I installed it. The Tejas mounts raise the engine and trans vs other mounts. The only picture showing the trans/shaft angle is before it was shimmed up so yes it was bad in that picture.- SmashBack

Wow looks like 4x4 you have to be even more creative. Who'd think on a big ole truck that the exhaust routing would be so difficult! Yes, those are the Speed Engineering headers. I can't imagine using them with any mounts other than the Tejas with how low they'd hang (a lot like the Summit...- SmashBack

Routing both to one side is the same amount of effort IMO and I don't care for the two tips on one side. Must be some kind of OCD! I've seen wildly varying results from X-pipes but all the results I've seen are more than marginal at best. It would be great to compare side by side on my own...- SmashBack

So I've dropped the lq4/4l80e in my 79 Big 10 (longbed of course). Had a 5" aluminum driveshaft built. I've got drop hangers and shackles out back so about 4" drop and have CPP drop spindles with stock springs in front. About to build the exhaust with 2.5 inch piping. I ordered one from them on 7-16-18, looks like the status finally changed from processing to processed. Wasn't in a big rush and if it's a good product, it'll be worth the wait. -

Thanks guys. I've spoken with Scotty a few times, from what I recall he recommends the Hooker manifolds which cost more than some of these long tubes. I'm running a fresh 4l80e, Dirty Dingo cross member and I'm having a new aluminum driveshaft built. Should be pretty cool! I keep going back...- SmashBack

Still trying to figure out if the Speed Engineering will fit. Might have to roll the dice and order them to find out. Picked up Schoenfeld at the local Summit so I can easily return those at least, if needed. They fit great, other than the funky pass side collector position. Points a little...- SmashBack

Looking at the pictures, I don't think these will clear with the Tejas mounts. Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll make sure I come back and update if I find something that works.- SmashBack

Yeah tough call there. I don't think the ones I was looking at will work. I think the Schoenfeld 1302LS1 headers may work. I've looked at the Speed Engineering but I'm leary of the Chinese parts. I'm guessing only the tubes are stainless...but maybe I'll give them a try.- SmashBack

I don't think there's any way to fit a grinder in there, it's in the cowl where the seam sealer is against the firewall. Honestly asking though, why converter before POR15? Granted I haven't owned anything that I used POR15 on long enough to determine if it's actually as good as they say, but... -

Yeah it's rusted already. Trying to clean out all that original sealer and will replace it with por15 topped by new seam sealer. -

Which springs did you use? There's 3 from Harwood in the link I listed and I don't think anybody else is making them..help us out! -

Yes also! At least on this truck I wasn't wanting the full perfect smooth look but after seeing how the VA plate was going to look I decided to at least give that area some attention, going for a "cleaner factory-ish" look.
