Yes, the MAP has stock lines. Fuel pressure is about 13 PSI with key on and truck running. Thanks for the thoughts on the alternator.

    1st TBI Conversion Help Needed

I checked for vacuum leaks when we set up the system and all was good. It idles nice and smooth also. I'll check the thermostat. I'm pretty sure we replaced it not that long ago but maybe its a bad unit. I've been thinking about upgrading to a higher amperage (150+) output alternator. The...

    1st TBI Conversion Help Needed

It's possible I caught that low vacuum reading when my son was trying to feather the throttle through a cut out. I have a new CTS so I think it's reading accurate. This thing runs really cool. And keep in mind it was -5. Even my new vehicles (2000 and newer) take FOREVER to get hot. Not...

    1st TBI Conversion Help Needed

Here is some updated data. I changed the dashboard to data only. First pic is of idle after running for about 10 minutes. 2nd pic is when driving and close to when we experienced a cut out. Any no, I'm not driving, logging data, and snapping pics at the same time! I got the WBO2 hooked up...

    How about a NEW squarebody?

If by no choice you mean they are leveraged to the hilt and cannot pay cash for used, and can only afford the payment on a new truck then I agree with you.

    How about a NEW squarebody?

I dunno. There are more trucks sold today than ever before. https://www.statista.com/statistics/199980/us-truck-sales-since-1951/ And it would appear "domestic" trucks have held their market share. http://www.wsj.com/mdc/public/page/2_3022-autosales.html

    Another NP203 Question

Well, what about putting in a new mile marker kit? Looks like an easy enough job and a lot faster and cost effective than sourcing an unconverted 203. I know these aren't good long term kits but for the amount of mileage we are putting on what would it matter?

I think I can change the dashboard display to just data. I'll try that and grab some more snapshots. Since its going to be really cold the next few days I should be able to log some data and capture the cut out.

No worries. That is interesting to know.

    Another NP203 Question

good thought. Or could I remove the current worn out part time kit from my original transfer case? If I can't do that and have to source an unconverted NP203, what do I do about my front locking hubs? Just leave them locked in?

The rear is an stock open differential. The front is probably stock too...but not positive on that.

    1st TBI Conversion Help Needed

Some more interesting symptoms to relate. My son tried to use the truck this morning. Ambient air temp about 0 degrees. Truck ran so crappy that he brought it home and borrowed the neighbors plow truck. Same symptoms, severe cut out off idle. When I drove the truck a couple days ago in 25...

    Another NP203 Question

Thanks for the article. It would seem the shaft conversion is the way to go, but a quick search yields nothing available in the market. I suppose a guy would have to get lucky and find one just laying around, or perhaps a complete NP203 with the shaft conversion already done.

    Another NP203 Question

Agree, I was referring to shifting slop I can feel in the driveline when going D-R and back.

    Another NP203 Question

More investigation wouldn't hurt. For sure the part time unit needs replaced, but the chain does not jump teeth so maybe there is some slop in the front end.

    Another NP203 Question

That seems to be what a lot of people say. But when considering this is a snow plow rig only for my son's fledgling business and gets about 3,000 miles per year on it I can't justify the TC swap out. If the replacement conversion kit was only going to last a short period of time (I have no...

    Another NP203 Question

My rig has had the part time conversion kit done and has begun to experience the common disengagement from 4x4 when driving. I've had this disengage violently when driving 30mph and don't wanna tear everything up, so if I'm not plowing I just drive in 2wd. I also feel and hear some slop in...

    1st TBI Conversion Help Needed

I removed the IAC and it was pretty carboned up. Cleaned it and did the reset procedure. No change to my symptoms when engine was cold. Once it warmed up it seems to run better. It is a bit saggy where it will flat out cut out and die when cold, but at least driveable. Something's still not...

    1st TBI Conversion Help Needed

Not in a useable format. The one thing I see with the data logging is that it captures about every second, so in playback it can be a tad glitchy on my screen. I'm still getting used to the dashboard and I need to look at all the settings to know when one is out of range. I'm going to watch...

    1st TBI Conversion Help Needed

Dave W from gearhead (who burned my chip) thinks it may be an AE table needing adjustment. However, the only way to know for sure is to install a WBO2 sensor to determine if it is a spark or air/fuel adjustment needed. Not really wanting to spend $200 on a WB system. I thought these TBI...

    1st TBI Conversion Help Needed

I was able to get connected and log a couple files. Funny thing, whenever I was recording the truck ran fine and only cut out a couple of times when I wasn't recording. This truck has a mind of its own. The only difference between today and when it was cutting out bad is that we are quite a...

Anyone here have experience with Tuner Pro? I cannot get it to recognize my cable and therefore cannot log any data. I've asked same question on Gearhead but that site just isn't as punctual as GMSB!
