Ummm is this bad?
Can't hurt to do a compression check, but if its main bearings having spun, you might as well pull the motor and tear it down, you can replace main bearings but that would just be a temp fix, especially if the mounting surfaces are scored or not smooth anymore.- Jarhead79

Ummm is this bad?
Id say that's not a good sign, a former friend had something similar to this and had spun three main bearings. Maybe someone replaced these already once and didn't clean out the oil and filter etc?- Jarhead79

You could possibly make one using plexiglass and some home made brackets, I used to make my own headlight covers for my 11' Challenger and sold a ton of them to others using tinted plexiglass. Instrument gauge housing
I've got one that's in excellent shape, no cracks etc, complete. Not sure if it works or not, bought it for my truck a couple months back not realizing it was for newer trucks, asking $50, not sure what shipping would be but if you're interested? -

Probably won't need the springs, but the bushings I'm still interested in, was trying to find out how much those run, what kind of deal are you thinking? High idle question
Unless it's in the carb or intake gasket, I'm doubtful, I've replaced all hoses that I could replace, I am going to try and change the detent cable and throttle cable to see if that makes any difference, but I can't understand how it can work one minute and then not the next- Jarhead79
