    Why does it matter? Gas station pumps even those that older mom-and-pop stations still use are electronically controlled... So even if your truck runs after an EMP you won't be able to fill up which is a problem at 5-15mpg.

    Okay... so was able to turn the engine using world's best tool, the mighty breaker bar :) Sprayed more WD40 into the cylinders to lubricate them. No, spark plugs aren't in yet.     They are simple and reliable... it's a fuel-efficient workhorse that will go for a long time, but it just doesn't compete with a Powerstroke or Duramax, or even a GM 6.5 Turbo Diesel

    Nah... electrically nothing happened at all. No fuel pump noise, no clicks, no lights, nothing at all. I don't think I had it connected properly.     If it was not "registered non-op" before it sat it will have back fees for being expired... I will find out before putting much money into the truck. Just going to get it running and driveable again so I can get to the smog test place. If I can't get it to pass smog I can't register it.

    I sure hope it's 4x4... if not I'm not going to do a conversion - a bit more work than I can do. But if it is, I'm definitely going to do a small lift and bigger tires. Not so big I can't tow, but just to give it a more aggressive stance. On the plus side, a non-4wd truck gets maybe 1MPG better...
