    And for what it's worth my 95 Suburban that I got for free, 4x4, half ton, 5.7L TBI, 4L60E, is running perfectly with 175k miles on it. I know you're not looking for one that old but clearly they do last. I get about 13MPG overall.

    Not saying they are perfect. In fact from what I've read here and heard elsewhere they are actually pretty bad. But I'd still prefer it over a carburetor. I'm a computer tech, not a mechanic :D

    Sold locally for $1800. When my life situation changes and I've got time for a square I'll be back - hopefully y'all will still be around then. If I get another square I want to either get a diesel or a fuel injected one - no more of this carburetor BS!

    BUY IT. The 6.5 is by far not as powerful as a Powerstroke or Cummins but it's not a bad engine. It will get the best fuel economy of any full size SUV ever made.

    I think my plan is too just focus on making the payments on the Colorado for now. When I have spare time/money I'll sort out the paperwork issues on my 98 K1500 and fix the mechanical aspects of that as well, and build that out how I like it.     Bought a 2007 Colorado to replace it. Love the old truck, just don't have time, patience, or money at this time. Maybe in a few years I'll get another square but for now it's got to go. Yep, I'm a traitor. :sorry:
