Long shot, but do you happen to have a TH400 to figure 8 pattern NP205 adapter?

    TH400 to NP205 Adapter

I hear ya. Just casting a net out there to see what I can find. I'm really hoping to find a cheap one. I'm going to have to get it machined anyway to fit a 4l80e so stripped threads in the foot don't really bother me. I could go buy the advance adapters part specifically for the 4l80e, but they...

Man, there is some serious hate for the TBI here! Lol. I can't say I feel the same about mine.

    454 4L80 Swap

I don't know much about the black magic that goes on in those computers, so I prefer to keep it as simple as possible. I did do a quick google search of the 0411 ECM swap. Based on what I saw, it appears that swap applies to later model Vortec motors. I could be wrong, but thats what I...

    454 4L80 Swap

Looking forward to seeing details and pics of your transmission swap. I am strongly considering a 4L80e behind my 454 tbi after the start of the new year. The microsquirt controller looks like a pretty straight forward standalone unit that should make installation pretty easy, although a...

How screwed am I? Broken intake manifold bolt hole in head.

I have had good luck with helicoils in various different applications. I think a helicoil would work here, but as suggested previously, it may be best to exhaust all other options before going the helicoil route. I think you will be able to salvage this head and get something to work, just...

    Project Mini me

I have an old Warn 9.5ti on my tow rig. It has been run into the ground and back. Works great. They are very costly, but you get what you pay for. Smittybuilt is a very good "bang for your buck" winch.

    Project Mini me

I cannot speak to the quality of the Badland winches, as I have never run one before. But if it is like a lot of the stuff you get from HF, you could be rolling the dice on it. I buy a lot of stuff from HF, but it is usually small stuff, hand tools, grinder disks, etc. I would be hesitant to...

    Project Mini me

Interesting build. Looks like you're making some good headway. But it seems like a lot of work just to move your truck in and out of your garage. Why not just use some of these: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200430521_200430521 and a come-along?

    Anyone running 16.5" wheels??

Very good point about their look after re-centering them...I will have to put some thought into that. One route I could go is swap on a set of DRW hubs and then not have to re-center. As far as tires go, I have found the Interco VorTrac LT Radial in a 35...but like you said, not much else...

    Anyone running 16.5" wheels??

I am going to be in the market soon for a new set of tires for my suburban. Will probably be bumping up to a 35. I currently have 16" Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels, but was thinking that a set of H1 wheels would look really cool on a square body suburban. I would have to get them...

    Rough country lift

Go with the Tuff Country HDs. I have them under my suburban, along with a set of Bilstein 5100 shocks. With a big block, and a big bumper with a winch, the ride quality is about as good as one could ask for on a leaf sprung straight axle truck.

Looking for a heavy-duty receiver hitch

I have definitely pulled 10k lb loads without a load distribution hitch. I haven't had any problems so far. But I would like to be able to hook up a heavy load without having to think twice about my rig's towing capacity. Sounds like I will definitely need to look into frame reinforcement and...

Looking for a heavy-duty receiver hitch

I don't necessarily disagree with you; however, I am a relatively conservative minded person and don't believe there is such a thing as overkill, lol. Plus, I regularly tow at or over the rated capacity of an average Class III receiver, so I would like to upgrade this component. I have...

Looking for a heavy-duty receiver hitch

Bringing this back from the depths... I am looking for a class IV or V for my 2500 Suburban. All I've been able to find are class III. Anybody come across any heavy duty receivers for our trucks???

    Hub Extremely Hot and Wobbles

"Hub extremely hot and wobbles" is most like an issue with bearings. Did you put new races in? I try not to mix and match bearings and races. They tend to wear together in the same manner. If you used old bearings from a different axle, but left the races in the hub, their wear patterns...

    Drivers Side Drop Front Axle

You are not going to find a driver drop front axle from anything that bolts right up to the front of a squarebody. Like whats been said above, a Ford axle will likely be your best bet. They are pretty readily available on craigslist, in salvage yards, and on offroad forums. They are durable...
