How screwed am I? Broken intake manifold bolt hole in head.
I have had good luck with helicoils in various different applications. I think a helicoil would work here, but as suggested previously, it may be best to exhaust all other options before going the helicoil route. I have an old Warn 9.5ti on my tow rig. It has been run into the ground and back. Works great. They are very costly, but you get what you pay for. Smittybuilt is a very good "bang for your buck" winch.- kickdeez

Anyone running 16.5" wheels??
Very good point about their look after re-centering them...I will have to put some thought into that. One route I could go is swap on a set of DRW hubs and then not have to re-center. As far as tires go, I have found the Interco VorTrac LT Radial in a 35...but like you said, not much else...- kickdeez

Anyone running 16.5" wheels??
I am going to be in the market soon for a new set of tires for my suburban. Will probably be bumping up to a 35. I currently have 16" Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels, but was thinking that a set of H1 wheels would look really cool on a square body suburban. I would have to get them...- kickdeez

Rough country lift
Go with the Tuff Country HDs. I have them under my suburban, along with a set of Bilstein 5100 shocks. With a big block, and a big bumper with a winch, the ride quality is about as good as one could ask for on a leaf sprung straight axle truck.- kickdeez

I have definitely pulled 10k lb loads without a load distribution hitch. I haven't had any problems so far. "Hub extremely hot and wobbles" is most like an issue with bearings. Did you put new races in? I try not to mix and match bearings and races. They tend to wear together in the same manner. If you used old bearings from a different axle, but left the races in the hub, their wear patterns...- kickdeez

Drivers Side Drop Front Axle
You are not going to find a driver drop front axle from anything that bolts right up to the front of a squarebody. Like whats been said above, a Ford axle will likely be your best bet.
