Anyone ever use the ashtray cup holder by brothers?

A cheap "between the seat" holder I had laying around and I epoxied a short length of plastic 2 X 6 trimmed down to fit the ash tray hole.

Anyone ever use the ashtray cup holder by brothers?

I made mine based on that design and it works well. A lot cheaper than $45.

    Backfire through carburetor

Backfiring thru carb, only under load, would also make me want to check that the ign coil is not getting weak and breaking down, not producing the higher voltage required for spark.

Trying another direction for valve covers. Still searching for that certain look I want. From this... To this...

    Chrome Rear Step Bumper

I sent a Dodge Ram bumper out to CA several years ago and I don't remember it being that much. Less than $20 IIRC. I just wrapped it with a box of cheap plastic kitchen wrap, stuck the shipping label under one of the layers and took it down to a local UPS pickup location. It made it the trip fine.

    Started this yesterday

I think of "frame off" as a bare frame only, ready for media blasting and repaint.

Should I replace the receiver drier?

Many compressor warranty's require a new dryer/accumulator & orifice tube each time in order to be valid. They're pretty cheap... less than $20.

    New Guy from Ohio

Welcome! I was wondering how that truck has lasted in Cleveland since '86 and the body isn't rusted out. Good job keeping it safe from the road salt.

    Wow!!!

    engine dress up

I picked up this pair on eBay for very little. Either aluminum or magnesium from a '84 corvette. After cleaning, sanding and repaint I like 'em much better than the stamped steel that came stock.

    Vavle cover bolt size?

I used flange bolts from ACE hardware when I replaced valve covers. They seem to work well.

Bought an 86 C20 Detroit Diesel!

Welcome... same running boards and hub caps that were on my '78 when I got it. I didn't like 'em... they're off now.

What have you done to your square lately??

AC is now blowing cold air... at last. Upgraded to R134a also. Original Delco compressor replaced (including accumulator & orifice tube) with a reman'ed one and clutch disk broke loose within two weeks. Warranty replaced it and I went with a brand new (made in China) one this time. Again, new...

    Basic valve cover questions

Those are the exact '84 Corvette covers I just put on my K10. With a little imagination and painting technique they can look much better than the stock stamped steel covers that I started with.

The Dawsonville truck show looks interesting but, I'd feel like I was crashing the C10 Club meet by showing up with a K10.

    White letters in or out?

Out... appropriate for our vintage '73 - '87 trucks. In on newer model vehicles.
