Appreciate the wisdom. I’ve tried two different sets of aftermarket wheels on mine and even at 125 ft/lbs on the lugs I can feel them weeble wobble driving on smooth highway for poor Chinesium manufacturing and lack of hub-centricity. In the interest of not prematurely killing wheel bearings...- string-a-ling

I have this exact same set up on my '86 K20 but with a Toyo AT3. Pitman arm rubs at full right turn for me. Does yours?- string-a-ling

Its the early style that’s retained by the axle shaft bolts. I’d be interested to know what disc brake assemblies from more modern 14 bolt axles if any fit. I like going to the junkyard for stuff.- string-a-ling

I’m goin to discs. Currently hunting for a caliper with e-brake functionality that fits. I’ve heard tell of a Caddy caliper that apparently fits, is robust enough for the application and has an e-brake in it but haven’t had time to follow the lead. Maybe it’s from an earlier truck. I’ve seen 70s 3/4t trucks with em. Everything seems to measure out the same. And the shock mounts are in the correct place. Guess I won’t know for sure till it all goes together. Thanks for the heads up!- string-a-ling

Thank y’all for the insights. Admittedly, I was just curious as far as the 1 ton and dually axles go. I’ve already acquired a FF 14 bolt out of an 84 or 85 k20 with the correct mounting surfaces all around and am currently hoarding fresh suspension parts and disc brake conversion parts so I can...- string-a-ling

It’s a work in progress! Its my first real engine swap so I’m learning as I go. It’s a junkyard 6.0 LQ4 out of a 2006 2500hd with about 80k miles on it. I got lucky with it as it has the 317 head the used in the GMT1200 trucks. Transition era engine I’m guessing? Apparently it gets better mpg...- string-a-ling
