    Camber Adjustments

So maybe I missed something but am I the only one here thinking... just take it to the alignment shop? I have done alignments before, at a shop. And there is just nothing like having a perfectly aligned vehicle. I know we all want to do everything ourselves, but an alignment is a very precise...

    Suggestion for final drive ratio

I dont know much about TBI, but... In the world of 4th gen fbodies, from the factory, automatic cars came with either a series 2 carrier 2.73 or a series 3 carrier 3.24. My TA had the 3.24's and stock I got up to 24 or 26 mpg on one trip (this was rare as I have a lead foot). The 3.24 still got...

    Ignition HELP! [solved]

The funny thing is that my wife is very mechanically inclined. She refinishes furniture and her home toolbox was a surprise to me when I met her. If she could, she would probably have a tool box as big as mine. That said... being a technician for 14 years (professionally) has lead me to be short...

    Ignition HELP! [solved]

Oh no... its in, just not in time. You know what pisses me off the most? First stab and it fired right up. Now the timing was off a bit and I thought, "I should just move all the wires over +1 on the dist and call it a day...." NAW, instead I decided that I needed to be perfect and that I can...

    Ignition HELP! [solved]

I thought that I could save $15, but right now, that seems cheaper than the bullet I crave. hahahaha.

    Ignition HELP! [solved]

Well... fuck it for the night. Im tired of climbing up and down and I'd rather put another hole in my head before I even ask the wife to turn the key to verify if Im getting spark. I put it at TDC and it looked close enough to where it should have been, but didnt start. So then I thought it...

    Ignition HELP! [solved]

I honest to god thought about doing that. I thought it would be kinda shitty, but the truck is mine and technically I would be the only one to know.

    Ignition HELP! [solved]

-TDC -Stabbed dist with rotor at about 5 o'clock. -- oil pump shaft is not seated -Turned crank by hand till oil pump shaft sat. since the dist is mated to the crank shaft at this point in time, the dist rotor and the crank are meshed. So if you turn the crank by hand, the rotor spins where it...

    Ignition HELP! [solved]

The dist is top to bottom rebuilt. It was running till I tried to correct the timing from the previous owner/builder. Timing light is an adjustable type, hence how I know it was about 30 degrees off. I do not have a spark tester, I guess thats next on the testers to buy. I set the...

    Ignition HELP! [solved]

Ok, this might be long but bare with me, I want to give as much info as I can. -replaced carb. -still had drivability issues. -figured I had air and fuel, spark -then it wouldn't start -replaced dist with rebuild dist -timing off by at least 20-30 deg. -low idle like I had a huge cam but...

    Heat and soundproofing material

Ive used products like Dynomat but more cost effective. But this is the first time I have ever hear of using Thermo Guard, so I wasnt sure what the main differences were.

    Universal throttle cable bracket

Sounds like you got pointed in the right way. That Mr. Gasket stuff doesn't just bolt on. I had to take out my deemed out and trim the bracket I got for the cables to bolt to the carb.

    Change from 2:73 to 3:73

From my understanding, they are the "same shitty 10 bolts they put in the third gens."

    Change from 2:73 to 3:73

Digging up an old thread because. Ok... I got half way through the first page and.... In the 4th gen F bodies, they still used a 10 bolt. I was putting down over 430 hp on a stock 10 bolt with a 3 series carrier and a girdle on an 4l60e (with stock converter and later a 4800 stall) car with...

    Good headlights

I was going to say something before, but didn't and waited for someone to say something. There are members running the LMC kit with their relay for 3 years and no issues. Bosch is NOT the end all be all to relays. I understand how common the Bosch relay is, but if LMC's relay kicks the bucket...

    vacuum port question

Well... I plugged it up and then trimmed the Accel Super coil thing to fit the new air filter housing and now it wont start like its flooded. So I dont know what I did wrong but this will have to wait till after work tomorrow... assuming it doesnt start up tomorrow with the start issue Im having.

    vacuum port question

Never mind, I think I got it. Unbolt the connect and plug with a 1/4 NPT plug/bolt.

    vacuum port question

Ok, there is the 3/8 NPT port on the back of the manifold. And from what I read, there is port on the bottom back of the quad that looks like it could have been the brake vacuum line. Right now I have the brake booster line to the manifold... which is the correct port to put it on. Also, if I...

    LS Wideband O2 sensors

You can NOT run a wide band in an LSx.... than said, what you can do is program another sensor to do this task. This is going years back, but what they used to do is this... if you want to run an wide band sensor and gauge, they would program something like the coolant temp sensor part of the...

    Heat and soundproofing material

Has anyone ran dynamat or the liking (since there are at least a handful of companies that say they are better than X) compared to Thermo Guard? Id like to know the difference as I plan on running a dynamat type material all around the cab.

Polyurethane bushings on a 4wd daily driver

Haha, that was my DD. 430+ hp to the wheels. The injectors were maxed out at 100%. Im sure it would have been well over 450 to the wheels with 36 lb injectors. And it gave everyone a run for its money. Plus it had long tub headers and 3 inch exhaust, H pipe, and dumped before the axle. It...
