    Which brakes are right

Ok, I can grab some pictures with wheels off so we can all see what’s going on.

    Which brakes are right

From what I can gather, that is the Silverado trim level. There is one level higher than that where there’s side trim making an oval and is painted in a two-tone color.

    Which brakes are right

Door tag says it’s the 7100 lbs GVWR vehicle, built in June of 77. Wondering if the end of year run has something to do with this weirdness.

One more thing to add. The 6-lug rotors are the hub & rotor unit cast in together, not the separate rotor disk from a hub assembly.

    Which brakes are right

Ok, I’ll go grab some pictures now. I don’t “need” front rotors per se. when I bought it, I wanted all new brakes front/rear as a baseline. I went to R1Concepts and ordered their extreme duty pads, rotors, calipers, drums and shoes. Everything fits from the kit save for the rotors & drums...

    Which brakes are right

Oh yeah, I meant to ask. What should I take the pictures of? Didn’t wanna up a bunch of pictures that didn’t help anything.

    Which brakes are right

I’m gonna have to say it’s probably the suspension change option. The truck and frame appears to have an unmolested dealership undercoating applied. It does have a 12-bolt truck spec rear axle installed with the leaf pack of a 1/2 ton 4wd truck. After fitting correct sized tires yesterday, it’s...

Ooooohh.....now that you mention it, the guy that sold it to me did have a British accent, lol.

    Which brakes are right

Keith, trying the “suspension change” route first, would the rotor/hub assembly from a K10 bolt up to the spindles or would a spindle replacement be required? For the rear, you’d have to do a complete axle housing swap wouldn’t you? On a side note, the guy I bought it from said the PO did some...

    Which brakes are right

Two options you say? That’s odd, didn’t know know that. I ordered pads, rotors, calipers and shoes from R1 Concepts out of California. All the other parts fit and are working except the rotors. They will bolt to the spindle, they just have 8 lugs. Would the K10 components work where C20 parts...

    Which brakes are right

Thank you all for the help. I’m starting to lean to the “wrong parts” installed on the truck before I got it. Kieth, the VIN is CCS267F203303. Thanks for the help.

    Which brakes are right

Hey guys, hope y’all can help. I have a 1977 C20 Suburban Silverado, 2wd, auto with a 454 and the tow package. I went to replace the pads, rotors, drums and shoes. Every parts store I go to as well as online tell me the only brake rotors are 8 lug drums/rotors. My truck has 6 lugs front & rear...
