Now you've got me wondering. Short in the starter might drain the battery through that wire. But on second thought, it would drain through the positive battery cable too

Ive had a problem with a fusable link at the starter on my pickup before, but that was the exciter and caused the alternater not to charge. Everthing ive come across with a draw ended up being a stuck diode in the alternator. :33:(Or, of corse, aftermarket stereo problems.)

Could it be the starter if disconnecting the alternator pigtail stops the draw?

Im disconecting the pigtail at the alternator. .075 ohms of draw with it connected and .05 unhooked.(ohm meter between negative battery cable and post.) Both the new and the old one read about the same. Had the volt meter on the battery terminals after i found that the new alternator was...

So the alternator has been draining the battery on the van. Ive been unpluging it whenever it sits more than a few minutes. Been working fine. Ive had a remanufactured ac delco from summit for a couple weeks now and i finally got it changed out today. The reman ac delco is draining the battery...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

I came across that a couple weeks ago. I actually messaged him about making a points cover for my shovelhead with skull and crossed wrenches. He said hed do it for $175, free shipping. Not too bad, but to pricey for me right now. Maybe someday tho. He said most of the diff covers run $700-800.

    4" or 6" lift for 3/4 ton??

My front springs are "zone offroad" made by bds. They are pretty stiff, but not jar your teeth stiff. From the reviews I've read, i dont think they're as stiff as "rough country", but I've never run "rough country".

Finally got to go camping! Same spot as the day trip. The van did great! It rained off and on but the whole familly stayed high and dry in the van. The tents got wet but there was plenty if room for the kids inside. :waytogo:

    4" or 6" lift for 3/4 ton??

I have 4" with 315/70/17 tires(probly measure 34"-34 1/2")on 9" wide wheels and i have no rub but i think with that wheel and tire combo, you would rub with only 4". Probably wouldnt be bad tho.
