Well, thicker planks would sit hither than the angles at the walls of the bed. The strips between boards would only sit as low as the depth I to which machined the edges..... I would just need longer screws.... -

Mr. Aaron, Thanks for that. What I thought to be maple turned out to be cedar anyway. Seems to me that I have seen some rough sawn cypress from sunken logs on FB somewhere. It is gettin to the time when I have to consider what wood to use in the bed of my '85 C-10 Short Bed Step Side. I got a line on some maple......... Any thoughts or suggestions? The truck is going to live in a garage when not being driver. -
Under Hood 12 Switched Power Source 84 C-10
Now that I (finally) got my fast idle solenoid mounted (3rd try on the bracket) I an searching for a switched power source under the hood. Without checking, I had thought that the blue wire connected to my choke was powered, as the choke seems to work properly. Wrong......... The fuse is good...- Ronno6

Original, yes for the 305 that came stock. Dunno if it would handle a higher compression 355... I purchased a 3 row Champion all aluminum w/ electric fans.- Ronno6

Things my father never told me........ One of the largest hurdles in my resto of my 84 C-10 would be.............vent windows!! New replacements are few and far between, especially the driver's side. Those that ARE available will require a second mortgage on my house. Used ones equally scarce...- Ronno6

Does the pedal act the same whether the engine is running or not? When the throttle plates are closed, a running engine's demand for air exerts significant side load on the butterflies, making off-idle movement difficult. If that is the case, wear between the throttle shafts and the throttle...- Ronno6

The factory column harness or is one included in the kit? Do you reuse the connector bodies in the vehicle harness that connect to the column harnesses?? New terminals for that also??How about ignition and dimmer switch connectors?? Thanks....- Ronno6

I am contemplating a total wiring replacement for my '84 C10. Painless is less so than AA, but they both command a hefty sum. American Autowire seems to have a more complete harness, but I have read that much adjusting is required...wire lengths, termination, etc. My son-in-law sells aftermarket...- Ronno6

Anyone Ever replace a Firewall Insulation Pad ??
I had the heater/AC box out already, and OEM insulation was in tatters.That is what motivated me. But..........then came steering column, clutch/brake hanger bracket, fuse box, accelerator pedal. etc...etc....etc..... I'm not as flexible as I used to was.........
