    A good K10 project!

I’d buy it if I didn’t already have almost the exact truck in my garage. A good deal with all the parts for restoration. 1985 Chevy Silverado https://nashville.craigslist.org/pts/d/somerville-1985-chevy-silverado/7289397954.html

73-80 Cab Trim on 81-87 Cab

Yeah, I wasn’t very clear in what trim I was talking about. My bad. Thanks tho. I haven’t seen much talk about the trim swap online at all. I would think there’d be more questions about it

73-80 Cab Trim on 81-87 Cab

you’re talking about the trim below the rear window correct?

73-80 Cab Trim on 81-87 Cab

It appears that 73-80 cabs are identical to 81-87 but I honestly have no clue. So my question is will the 73-80 rear cab trim/band fit on an 81-87 cab with no issues. I really like the look of the older trim with the black striping on it. It matches the fender trim much better.

    Needing Rear Bumper Brackets

Needing 81-87 rear bumper brackets. NOT the sport bumper. I know they’re out there for 120$ but I am trying to avoid that. If anyone has some laying around and want to make a few bucks, it’d really help a guy out. Thanks!

    Sanden Condenser Compatibility

Oh definitely. Be sure you know what fittings you need. You can basically build them yourself but there are a ton of fittings to pick through. For example a #6, 8, or 10 size, clocked at a certain “time” and bent at a specific angle...If you want I can send you the build I did. So you can have a...

    Sanden Condenser Compatibility

I used the 3642C and it only requires notching out a pc of the radiator support. It wasn’t too difficult at all. I was able to do it with a 4” cutoff wheel. Had hoses made from coldhose.com But I’m sure you can get some made from a local shop. In order to use the OEM hoses you have to purchase a...

Any 9V6 Gunmetal Gray Trucks Out There??

Hey guys, I have a 9V6 color coded 1985 K10 which is called Gunmetal Gray. I have yet to see another OEM gunmetal gray K10 Of this era out there. Tons of aftermarket paint job but none original. The GM brochure states that this color code was only for the Astro mini van during his time so idk...

A/C rebuild list. May help someone

Yeah, really happy with the original air bracket. I have a 60” belt and I think because of the bracket adjustment, it can fit anywhere between A 59” or 61”. Good luck and let me know what temps you get out of the vents! Also, you go blue o-tube?

A/C rebuild list. May help someone

One thing I recommend is trying out the blue Orifice tube. I went with an OEM white one but with a switch to R-134, I think the blue would help a lot better. Might get you a few degrees colder.

    What’s your honest A/C temp?

I guess one could unhook the kick panel door, but idk if you want that open all the time with it being so close to the rain drain route. Sound like too much work for a 2 degree change if that. I’m happy with my 60 degrees at idle on a 100 degree day.

    What’s your honest A/C temp?

that’s not bad at all! It seems we’re in the same ball park. At idle, about 60 degrees when it’s warmed to about 200. I wonder if sealing off that cowl flapper would make any difference.

    What’s your honest A/C temp?

sounds like that truck of yours will freeze you out! Well done! I haven’t had the chance to drive it around yet, but It does start to get colder with the higher RPMs. I still have the original 2 core with a 5 blade clutch fan. Any of you guys running an aftermarket carb? Do you have an idle...

    What’s your honest A/C temp?

I just installed a Sanden compressor and so far I’m not too happy with it at idle. I’m Getting 40 with low setting and about 60 on high setting. I’m curious to what you guys are getting at the vents with the fan on HIGH. I know the aftermarket vintage air will freeze you out,but I’m more curious...

    Aftermarket a/c

Did you add any oil after getting that Sanden? My Sanden came with 7.2oz.

What have you done to your square lately??

Complete a/c install. Sanden 508, custom coldhose.com hoses, new evap, condenser, and drier. Went with a white tube, and wishing I would’ve went with a blue. Not sure how she’ll do on the road, but at idle she brought 45 on the low setting, 60 on the high setting. Ambient temp in the garage was...
