    Painting 2-tone / std cab / 8ft bed

@Grit dog Raptor liner has tintable bed liner. I sprayed mine white. Came out great but don’t know durability yet.

Advice for the DIY painters out there.

@fast 99 It wasnt anything major. Set it off at 6pm, sprayed the next day around 1pm. Most contaminants will come from your own hands.

Advice for the DIY painters out there.

@fast 99 Yepp! That’s exactly what I did. Bought a sealer and never had an issue with that again. Something I did to help with bugs, was I set up my booth (garage 1/4 open with 3 cheap box fans at bottom. Sears rest with a tarp.) covered the truck, then opened a fog bomb and let that sit til the...

Advice for the DIY painters out there.

Good advice. I had a few spots burn up on mine. All were on spots where the previous coat was thin. It was my first time spraying a car. Base coat is just for coverage. No need to pile it on or can get burn through.

New Charcoal Canister and Idle Change

If you have a clogged vapor canister, would it not be possible that when you get a new one and blip the throttle that more fumes would enter the carb then what was happening previously? Also, the question mark at the end of my statement that you quoted kinda implied that I was just throwing an...

    Painting 2-tone / std cab / 8ft bed

It all depends on what brand paint you go with. I normally buy the kit that comes with everything. This is just an example. https://shop.thecoatingstore.com/Midnight-Shadow-Blue-Pearl-Basecoat-Clearcoat-Car-Paint-Kit-PGCB467-BCCKIT.htm If you went to bare metal. You’ll need epoxy primer, and...

    Painting 2-tone / std cab / 8ft bed

I needed 1.5 gallons on my short bed, but that was white (doesn’t cover well, had a few mistakes, and wasn’t a 2-tone. So maybe 1 gallon black/blue, then a couple quarts of the bottom gray.

@68post Well, thanks man. But I painted that thing in my garage lol It doesn’t look as good up close as it does in pics. I always admire original paint and oem parts.

@Craig 85 what size lift on that? @Redfish Thanks! Took a lot of work to get it there. The tires are 285/75/16’s. I think the diameter comes out to around 33”. No rubbing whatsoever.

    '87 V1500 2" Lift Advice

I’d be able to give you a better ride review if I had been swapping from a stock setup. The previous owner had a 3” body lift and 2 added leaves on the front (4 total) and back. Did the ez-rides improve the quality? lol absolutely. But it was basically a dump truck before.

    '87 V1500 2" Lift Advice

@Redfish i have the 2” ez rides and I think they could handle the winch and bumper just fine. If you needed more room, could always add a 1” block.

Remove 3" lift and return to stock

Oh man that thing is going to look sweet. Don’t like the 33”s? I love the stock height with 33”s

Remove 3" lift and return to stock

@Inman789 Awesome that you’re going back to stock. Would love to see some before and after of it. I believe the best you’ll be able to do as far as oem cab bushings would be LMC. Otherwise you’ll have to go with polyurethane. They’re fine but can have some cab squeaks until they settle in. Most...

Also one more thing. On my 208 there were multiple different Speedo gear housings. One for teeth with a range of like 20-25, 26-30, 31-35 and so on. You must have the correct housing for the correct gear.

I believe this works for the 203 and 208. I believe my 208 had the gray 15 gear so used that in my calculation. You may have to take off the tail housing to see what gear you have. Oh it doesn’t matter. eBay, Amazon…they’re pretty inexpensive.
