79 GMC grill, the chrome bar one.

I think I have seen that before and it didn't bother me. The original owner was a kinda pushy, 6’7”, sheriff who I could see making them do a custom order the way he wanted. Nice guy though and pretty much optioned the way I would want it.

Decent looking deal, 454 shortbed c10

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1977-Chevrolet-C-10-Silverado/233293643360?hash=item3651627e60:g:4SQAAOSwBA1dLMD7 I was just shopping these out before getting one. Looks decent, do not know about the interior originality and do not know why he felt the need to put the original heads on a donor motor...

79 GMC grill, the chrome bar one.

Yeah it would be hard to forge all that and miss that. Especially for someone 80 years old and was kinda apprehensive about selling it to begin with. It was built at the fremont plant. I was more impressed it had the original windshield still. Dude didn't drive it much.

79 GMC grill, the chrome bar one.

Its a gmc vin. YE9 is Silverado Grande Sierra. 71W is the highest end trim interior in red, has like the woodgrain. Numbers all match on it back to the pink slip and mileage records. Seemed weird to me too. The guy that owned it was a sheriff in a big county and said he wanted a decked out...

79 GMC grill, the chrome bar one.

So this is kinda random but I picked up a 77 that had this option. I am pretty sure my Jimmy doesn’t now. Glad I started this thread though. I definitely want to restore the grill, maybe both of them. They are nice but so so, along with the rest of the trim. Here is the option sheet, RPO...

    Cost to swap in a 700r4 or a 480le?

My uncle had a 75 C10 he bought new and drove to work for 41 years daily. Only thing he changed on it was swapping in a 700r4 when the original died. He said he bought a cheapo rebuild at Autozone and I want to say it was like $600 or $700; something stupid cheap. Heck this might have been 20...

    700r4 On Older 350 ?

That would be the same as an 87 V10 then. TBI 350 with a 700r4. One year only kinda sought after. Only had SUVs and HD trucks after 87 in the square body, till 91. So maybe this was where he got the parts. They used that motor to 1995 then went with the L31 Vortec 350 in 1996 which is a...

79 GMC grill, the chrome bar one.

Ah good eye. I have that piece, its just not installed. About to strip it anyway. Yeah I was inquiring about the rarer grill with chrome across the center where the GMC grill is. Considering it was an optional grill and this truck is original I am going to guess they didn't option it.

    Are these available?

If you already have those, assuming from the picture, a good upholstery shop should be able to fix them up decently.

    Tuff Country

My 87 V10 4x4 sits 3/4” lower in the back and my Jimmy 1/2”. Is that normal? I have been doing math off that some. Gonna start measuring from the hub center to fender well... make sure I dont buy the wrong crap.

That sits great, little high in the back for a K5/Jimmy but really looks good. I guess I shouldn’t d be too scared of 33s and a 3 inch lift...

    Tuff Country

Subscribing. I was looking at SDsprings and they have the 3 inch on sale. Was thinking on my 79 jimmy do that with the 88+ front shackle kit. Would be 3-1/4 inch. Maybe too big for 33’s? On the rear I was thinking stock replacements and a shackle flip to save a few bucks but maybe just...
