Ahhhhh! I thank you very much for that. Vehicle wiring and the "methodology" to which ifs done is very new to me. That makes a lot of sense tho to think that the egr valve now can be operated based on gear/speed. Jim- You seem to have much better wiring diagrams then the chilton or Haynes...

Ya its from the original 85 wiring. It strictly goes from the tranny to this red connection that was plugged into a vacuum switch for the egr then into the dash. I'll look later tonight for wire colors.

Awesome thank you. Do I need to worry about that connection in the photo I posted? It was hooked to the solenoid for the egr valve. Makes no sense to me why the tranny would be wired to that unless its just a common ground.

Another tranny question.... The wires coming up from the transmission split..I thought it only went to the vac sensor for lock up few go in the dash, 2 go to the vac sensor, and 2 went to the "egr bleed sol" What's the scoop with these? Leave that d/c'ed or what

    Carb to TBI

Same number of pins right? Just cut and splice the plug? ....if I find a 87-91 350 with a 700r4...couldn't I pull the ecm and tranny lock up wires? Or is it a different harness all together? And any provisions I need to worry about for cruise control?

Grrrr I'm home now lol will have to be tomorrow. This donor truck was a work truck for a local property management company. I was told the engine was rebuilt a few years ago by GM. Then the tranny blew last winter so they said scree it and gave it to my buddy.
