    Seat recovering

I had a pretty easy time getting the covers over, it was just the last tiny bit of that j channel mixed with my impatients! All in all it was a half way decent project that’s sitting on my kitchen table waiting for the carpet to be installed!

    Seat recovering

Got them both recovered but let me tell you that back j channel that hooks on the bottom of the seat frame can not take a lot of pulling. I ended up having thread separation on the last 3” of it from pulling on it.

    Seat recovering

Very tough on the hands! The hog rings were a whole body maneuver to get it though both sides and around the metal rod.

    Seat recovering

I’ve taken on the task of recovering the rats nest of a seat in the K10. It is a task. Getting the hog rings out was a battle but getting new ones back in even more of a battle. The electric turkey knife is a game changer!! But finding the dumb stuff people use to “fix” issues is giving some...

Anyone know what this is?! A lot of wires and some not connected

Will disconnecting any of that cause issues other than cruiser control not working?

Anyone know what this is?! A lot of wires and some not connected

It’s looking like it wires into the wiper control on the steering column. This on my 86 k10 and it appears to have a newer style wiper control.

Anyone know what this is?! A lot of wires and some not connected

This is under the dash just hanging in a rats nest of wires. Two of the wires are not connected on one end.

Can you guys let me know your thoughts on frame

On my K10 the frame has me questioning it a little bit only for the fact of looking at it and tapping on it. Thoughts on its condition And also thoughts on a fix for it if needing to be fixed. Without swapping the whole frame.

Engine temp running a bit warm

Afternoon everyone 86 k10 with a carb swapped 350 runs a bit warm any thoughts of where I should start aside from coolant level? It did have the over flow plugged off with no overflow tank so I’ve since added a tank and opened up the overflow. Hasn’t gone above 230 on the gauge and when I’m...

These brakes are DRIVING ME NUTS! SOMEONE HELP!!!

I am having an absolute time with the breaks. I can’t not seem to order the right parts to save my life. This is proving to be more of a Frankenstine. 86 k10. Had 11” drums with 2 3/4 shoes, ordered what I thought was that but with the adjuster all the at in the drum still is off by about 3/8...

  15. cbrown5385

    Can’t find this adjuster!!!!

I cannot find this brake adjuster at any part store!! This measaures 3 1/2” fully collapsed and every part store the adjuster is way stinker and 3 3/4”. If I put it on it causes the shoes to be out way to far for the drum to go on

Breaks come on hard when coming to stop sign

Well it’s looks like someone hired and alligator to try and swap the wheel cylinder at some point on this and rounded every single possible bolt and fitting, had to cut the bolts to get the cylinder out.

Breaks come on hard when coming to stop sign

I should see fluid leaking out of the backing plate if that’s the case right? Other than rip the wheel and drum off?

Breaks come on hard when coming to stop sign

I think I stand corrected my wife side when we were driving it today that it was only the right rear wheel locking up

Breaks come on hard when coming to stop sign

the fronts seem to be rolling and braking okay. No yard pulling or yanking that I have felt at all.

Breaks come on hard when coming to stop sign

Every stop. Even coming down my dirt driveway step on the break and the rear locks right up and slides, I was thinking it was lack of rear end weight but it’s crazy. There’s zero doubt that if it needed to be braked hard in traffic it would lock right up

Breaks come on hard when coming to stop sign

In my wife’s 86 k10 when coming to a stop sign if you are not slowing down wayyyy before and barely stepping on the brake the rear wheel looks up causing the tire to screech. Any thoughts or ideas?
