    Fuel leaks down?

I'm really hoping I don't get that problem. Why would you have to crank for 20+ seconds? Wouldn't the fuel pump be able to get the fuel there withing a couple seconds regardless? It's not a long distance from the carb to the tank. Could it be a problem with the fuel pump barely pumping?

    Fuel leaks down?

I don't know... I can let my 84 k10 sit for a week or 2 and it will start withing 3 seconds of cranking. Edelbrock carb, but original fuel pump.

Extremely new to the concept of locking hubs

I guess I took it a little too seriously. Yeah, I meant the best thing about auto hubs and not 4wd in general. The best thing about 4wd for me is the confidence it gives me to drive wherever I want. Which will eventually get me stuck.

Extremely new to the concept of locking hubs

I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion. I'm just trying to learn, no reason to be condescending. I'm extremely happy with my 4wd because it has never let me down. Ever. Also every 4wd vehicle I've ever had has had automatic hubs and in 5 vehicles I've never had a problem. So you can...

Extremely new to the concept of locking hubs

I think I will leave the automatic ones until they mess up or I notice that they're not working for my needs. Then I will switch them over until manual.

Extremely new to the concept of locking hubs

If I installed manual hubs and locked them in for my long 2 hour drive to work, but left my truck in 2wd would it tear up anything? I know I can't drive long distances in 4wd.

Extremely new to the concept of locking hubs

What about manual hubs are more reliable? I've never had any trouble with shifting into 4wd. And like you, I've never really had to reverse to unlock them. I'm not arguing, just learning. Since mine are auto locking hubs does that mean when I'm in 2wd they're unlocked just like a manual hub...

Extremely new to the concept of locking hubs

If they're auto locking like bucket said then am I driving with locked hubs when I'm in 2wd? No thanks on the SUV. I have a pick up for reason. It would be hard to haul sand or gravel in an SUV. So basically during the winter you have hour hubs locked in because you might need your 4wd at any...

Extremely new to the concept of locking hubs

My truck is an 84 K10 with an automatic transmission. I'm very new to the concept of 4wd hubs. I've attached a picture of my front hubs. How do my hubs work? Do they just work when I put my truck into 4wd? Are they always engaged? Do I have to back up to get the 4wd to engage after shifting the...

    Car seat?

I don't think the seat belts in my old truck have the ratcheting function. I guess I can use the middle lap belt and cinch it down really tightly. I usually end up using my knee to push the base down when tightening the base in my wife's car.

    Car seat?

If we put the car seat into my 84 k10 it'll be because me, my wife, and my child all want to go somewhere local that's off the main road a little bit. I will probably put the car seat in the middle if it will fit.

    Car seat?

Is there any way to safely install my rear facing car seat in my 84 k10? It would only be for times when his mom has the SUV. I know people's have always done it, but I'm asking if it's safe to do so. All I can find online is turn off the airbag which doesn't apply to my truck.

    Factory bumper hitch?

That's true. If I can find an easy way to reinstall the brackets, I will. If not, oh well.

    Factory bumper hitch?

I was exaggerating a little, but I don't want any risk of tearing off my bumper. I'm glad to know I can use the bumper hitch in normal situations though.

    Factory bumper hitch?

Should I try to find a way to install the hitch and keep those factory brackets?

    Factory bumper hitch?

The idea of tying a chain to a log and taking off full throttle to yank it out of a pile still scares the crap out of me. The tire in the truck bed does suck. Maybe I can fabricate a bracket to hold my spare tire.

Does my engine have a chance of living?

Oh wow. We get weather like that here occasionally... But not very often.

Does my engine have a chance of living?

How cold is it where you live? I live in Kentucky so it gets decently cold in the winter, but not consistently.

    Factory bumper hitch?

Don't worry about taking the picture. I was really just wondering if it was the same as mine. If I can't mount the hitch I bought, I will be purchasing the one you have.

    Factory bumper hitch?

I'd rather have it bolted to the frame just for strength. Probably overkill, but I'm having a hard time getting it out of my head. I would always be worried about ripping my bumper off if I tied a chain around a log and took off hard to yank it out of some stuff.

    Factory bumper hitch?

Could you show me a zoomed out pic of your bumper? Is it a step bumper like mine?

    Factory bumper hitch?

If I end up going that way, which I doubt I will, you'll be the first I let know.

    Factory bumper hitch?

Thanks. I'm not planning on towing anything very heavy, I just don't like bumper hitches for their versatility. I plan on putting one of these on my hitch.

    Factory bumper hitch?

I can't keep my bumper and install my hitch? The brackets don't seem to go to anything. They curve inwards But don't attach to anything

    Factory bumper hitch?

Thanks for the info! Do you know what those brackets are mounted on my frame? They're curved like they were for holding something.
