Adding a transmission temp gauge to 700r4

How would I go about adding a temperature gauge for my 700r4 Transmission? It's mostly a curiosity thing. Also what's the safe operating range for my transmission? It's in an 84 K10 with a 305.

84 K10 replacement radiator and electronic fan combo?

My radiator for my 84 Chevy K10 with the 305 is on its way out. Does anybody know of a radiator and electronic fan combo kit that will be a direct swap? I'm interested in getting rid of my stock cooler fan and going to an electronic one. I'm hoping that there's a kit that I can buy and it'll...

Adding lower anchor points to the bed.

I finally installed all my anchors. I put one in each corner. I sanded and primed the areas around the anchors before installing. Also, I cut some steel plates to use on the underside of the bed to provide even more support. The anchors themselves are rated for 5,000 pounds so I should be fine...

Adding lower anchor points to the bed.

I'll finally be installing the D-rings tomorrow. I sanded and primed the areas where I'll be installing the anchors to hopefully not cause any more rust than is already there. Now just need to drill 8 holes and tighten down the anchors.

    Clunking when turning

New bearings would be a good idea anyways. I only change the pads, not the rotors because I didn't want to fool with the wheel bearings and auto lockers. But it's looking like it's time for a front end rebuild.

Adding lower anchor points to the bed.

I saw those, but I think you have to drill a decent sized hole for the recessed part to sit in. That made me uncomfortable.

    Clunking when turning

I'll double check the tightness of my lug nuts. And I don't remember applying the brakes making any difference to the noise level. Except that when slowing down the noise slowed down to match my speed.

    Clunking when turning

I just redid my front brakes (the caliper pins were sticking, causing my back brake pads to wear all the way through. No, it has never sat underwater.

Adding lower anchor points to the bed.

I was gonna go with eye bolts, but I want something that won't stick up. It probably won't matter, but it's stuck in my head now.

Adding lower anchor points to the bed.

I checked and there's plenty of room to go between the tank and bedside. I can get my hand up in there pretty easy. I plan on going fairly close to the edge.

    Clunking when turning

I went out and looked at my truck. I didn't have anyone else to help me, but I rocked the truck back and forth and the front axles weren't turning at all. So I don't know it's that rules out the front axle u-joint, but I guess it does. What else could cause this noise? It drove fine while...

    Clunking when turning

Will do. I've got to take it to a buddy's to have him time the engine, so I'll have him help me with this too. Thanks everybody for your help

    Clunking when turning

So you're saying the hub itself when in 2wd won't let the u joint rotate. I'll have to look at that. I guess the hub being unlocked wouldn't let the axle turn. It's pretty loud and just started. I wonder what else it could be if it's not the u joint.

Adding lower anchor points to the bed.

Hmm... I didn't consider that. I only looked at accessibility on the passenger side. I don't know what saddle tanks are. But, I have the single gas tank.

Adding lower anchor points to the bed.

I don't have a tool box in the truck. This is really just for peace of mind. Sometimes I also haul stuff like loose bamboo flooring that I need to keep from sliding around too much. Last time I ended up placing my spare tire on top of the pile so I would be higher than the bed side. Then I...

Adding lower anchor points to the bed.

I have some 3/16 flat stock I plan on putting on the back side. I'm attaching a photo of where I'm planning on putting these. On the floor of the bed, but tucked away in front of and behind the wheel well. But on both the driver's and passengers side of course.

Auto hubs. When I'm in 2wd the front isn't locked in at all. I'm thinking it's the u joint right at the wheel hub. It's super rusty and doesn't look very good.

    Clunking when turning

It's not the type of clunking that could be ball joints. It's a rotating clunking noise that changes directly with wheel speed on flat even pavement. I have the factory auto hubs.

Adding lower anchor points to the bed.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XXJ6V6T/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_nYkPEbE9JFBZE I bought these off Amazon to add some low down anchor points in my 84 k10 bed. I'm sick of not being able to anchor down anything that's lower than the bed sides. Yesterday it was a load of wood. Has anybody else done...

    Clunking when turning

Hey! Took the ole 84 K10 out for a 2 hour round trip yesterday and I noticed when leaving the orange hardware store that when turning and driving there was a clunking type noise coming from the front. (sounded like driver's side) I'm thinking this is probably my u-joint going to my wheel hub...

    Replacement wiper arms

I'm sorry I haven't had time to put the ones from the 01 jeep xj on yet. Maybe I can try to do one tonight. It's been raining so much here and I don't have anywhere inside to work.

I have received them, I plan on trying to put them on tomorrow. If the splines line up I think they'll work. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
