More starter woes, or is it?

My starter issues ended up being the ignition switch. The copper contact and springs wear out with age and arc internally. Its a pita to get to the switch (on the steering column top behind the dash)......but its an inexpensive part that does wear out. Many people assume its a starter or battery...

    64 c 10 "Huckleberry" build progress

Its been a fun project and far from done...but close. Several people have suggested to keep the paint as is. I don't want to have to worry about keeping the paint clean and would rather have people parked next to me worry about the condition of their paint.

    starter heat shield...aluminum or blanket?

Well...I ended up installing a aluminum heat shield and the heat soak issue is gone. It was a bit more difficult than wrapping the aluminum blanket stuff around the starter, but overall the problem has been resolved.

    How much to lower?

No problem... I am currently fabricating and bagging a 64 chevy c10 that I purchased last year. Since my 84 is basically complete......I needed another project to tinker with. It maitains my sanity...lmao. This truck will basically be scrapng the ground and setting the rear bumper on the...

    How much to lower?

I would suggest with that tire and wheel combo....2-1/2" drop spindles up front with stock coils...and a axle flip kit in the rear. The flip kit will get you around 5 inches...lower iin the rear if you keep the overload spring. You will also need shorter shocks front and rear to accomodate the...

    Headers and trans crossmember question

With my long tube headers, had a shop bend exhaust piping to curve up and over the trans cross member on the passenger side. Its a tight fit, but it clears. My header flanges touch the pavement when the air is dumped from the air bags.

    Flip with drop shackles

Shouldn't be an issue, but check for clearance between the upper part of the drop shackle and the underside of the bed.

    Sub Enclosures

It really doesnt take much ro make an enclosure. Often times it is trial and error. I have been building enclosures for years...all different trucks. I really like the bandpass enclosures. ..although I haven't built one of those yet. If I had another k5 or burb, that would be the way that I...

    Who's running behind seat subs??

I made my own enclosure. ..it fits two Kenwood 12". I am 6' tall and 200lbs and I have plenty of legroom with the enclosure behind my seat. I am oldschool and just took measurements with my seat back to where I fit comfortably and went from there making the speaker enclosure. I am running 1000...

    Sub Enclosures

:welcome:.....and I have a sub enclosure in my square...behind the seat that has a pair of 12" subs. I built it myself. I had no luck finding a behind the seat enclosure that would accomodate my subs. I took basic measurements of the length, height , width at the top and width of the bottom...

    Engine dies when switching tanks....

When checking in tank fuel pump, also replace the sock filter on the pump. They clog really easily. Alo check that the rubber hose on the pump assembly is still connected. Sometimes these hoses come loose or split causung pump problems as well.

I recently purchased a set of window felt guides for my 64 c1 from calssic parts. What have you done to your square lately??

And...although not a square, but I am starting to get going on the fab work for installing my air ride setup on the 64 c10. Once the weather cools down a little, I will be starting the mounting of the compressors, tank, valves and air lines. I also plan on a body drop or "z" cutting the front...

What have you done to your square lately??

I had exhaust cutouts installed on my 84 along with turn down tips that dump straight down. The setup has a remote control that allows me to run exhaust through the flowmasters at 100% or up to 100% straight exhaust with the touch of a button. It sounds sweeeet !

RECOVERED AFTER STOLEN..HOW TO PREVENT THIS AGAIN

....true regarding " dumping a mag. " like you stated previously, one shot, two shots, sometimes three shots and a person driven by fight or flight wont stop when shot. If the assailant is high on drugs, that also change the situation as well. Now on the other hand, if you empty and reload...
