    Fuel economy C10 with carb

My 77 gets ~ 13 mpg with a stock 4 barrel Rochester, 350, and 400 trans. I'm more interested in gas mileage now so maybe I need to look into a Roch 2 barrel??? Would you know of a specific carb # that would be a 'bolt on' swap or is it that simple? Thanks in advance!

    4 sail section

I don't even see a for sale or sail section to look at goodies. Maybe it doesn't show on a phone, but only on a computer???

Sirius/XM "Roady" with original GM truck radio

I installed an FM modulator from Crutchfield for under $30 in another car and it works well. It was easy to install and use. When you want to listen to XM, you just tune the radio to a specific station. The only difference would be is if it would work as well with an old analog radio as...

Great job of thinking outside the box and trying multiple options. I hope to get a 3D printer one of these days...

    Spark plug wires

I have a stock 77 350. I'd like to route a new custom 'cut to length' set of wires like this, but I want the nipple for the dist retainer ring and 90 degree plug ends. I'm having a hard time finding that combination. I found one set like this, but they are 10mm wires and I can't find a crimper...

Build your own spark plug wires?

I have a stock 77 350. I want to get a new custom set of wires that have the nipples that fit in the distributor retainer ring, route the wires behind the block, along the sides of the block, and end with a 90 degree boots at the plugs. I found the exact 'cut to length wire' kit on Amazon but...

    1977 C10 Silverado

Welcome from Central TX! I've had my 77 Silverado for 45 years now. Even though it doesn't look pretty, I still love it!

Broken hearted kid and fuel system

Hopefully your fuel pumps come with a warranty so at least you don't have to pay for one each time... Another thought is IF you all know of someone with a good working FP, try swapping what you think is bad with a known good pump and see what happens on both trucks. I realize you need a real...

Breaks come on hard when coming to stop sign

I had a similar issue on my 77 C10. I found my bad rubber line by jacking the wheel up off the ground, apply and let off brake so the wheel hangs. Then start cracking the brake hose fittings loose until you are able to turn the wheel. That should tell you where the obstruction is. I had a bad...

Cruise control works for a while then starts to lose speed

The cruise on my 77 C10 functions similar with losing speed going uphill. If I help it by manually pressing on the accelerator, once I get over the hill, it picks up speed like I've got a new 'setpoint' for the cruise to maintain. I rarely use cruise so I've lived with it, but this thread has...

    Fuel Pump?

Replacing all those little lines is an excellent idea, especially if I drop the tanks and replace the filter socks. Do you know what size hose I need to order, 5/16" ? Also, would you know what size the line is that the filter sock goes on? I'd rather have parts lined up once I get started...

    Fuel Pump?

Thank you for the PNs. It is very easy to change. The truck surges when accelerating so since it's is so old I'm thinking about dropping each tank, replacing the filter socks, and inline filters too. Any other suggestions are appreciated.

    Fuel Pump?

Good point about finding a NOS pump and the rubber being shot. I never thought about it, thanks! I was reading other posts and people were bashing Airtex... I guess part of it might just be luck of the draw... Thanks again!

    Fuel Pump?

I'm replacing my 2 line mechanical fuel pump on my 77 C10 stock truck. I'd like to use a US made AC Delco pump, but research shows they are no longer available. Would someone please tell me what the Delco P/N is in case I can find a NOS replacement? If I can't get a real Delco pump, research...

    Externally mounted TFI module

Sorry, I used to play with Ford's so TFI stuck in my head. Yes the HEI module in a 77 350 Silverado. My idea started when I found the heatsink in the first picture that was slightly modified so a typical HEI 4 pin module could be mounted to it on the firewall. The 2nd pic is the module that the...

    Externally mounted TFI module

Hi, I'm a new member to this group and I'm having trouble searching in the TFI ECU group, so I'll ask the question now (sorry if it has been asked before). I don't drive my gas hog that much anymore, less than 2k miles per year, but it seems like my TFI module goes out roughly every 1-2 years...
