Installation manual for RCA 8 track player, model 20C405G

Bigger question is do you have 8 tracks in good enough condition to play? If so best of luck to ya!

Cbc pro chassi ls header options??

That looks like a tight squeeze, sorry to say I have no suggestions for you. Cool looking build tho, best of luck!

The 383 is finally going in!

Might be a little easier to install the motor with the headers off for the sake of clearance issues dropping in. Personally I’d pull the distributor for the reason posted above, it only takes a fraction of a second to destroy it vs the few minutes to remove it.

    Complete Re-Wire 1978 Scottsdale 4x4

If your set on going all the way painless and American auto wire have end to end kits that are well made, I personally went with painless but you’ll get the same results with either. It can be done in a weekend (I did it in two days) but plan on 4 days minimum if you aren’t comfortable with...

    Rear Window Sliding Glass

I have a similar dark slider, I love it! Having trouble backing up at night? Just open the window!

Are there different rear windows from 73-75 and 76-87??

The rear window is a pain to seat on your own, with suction cups and the rope tool it took two nights to get mine to fully seat. Take your time, use some form of lube and don’t give up.

    Down on power, sounded different.

Last time I was down on power I found this joy in the top end, keep in mind my vac gauge was swinging wildly at idle, couldn’t really call it an idle tho lol.

    Which wiring harness

When I priced it out I included the new socket kit and it ended up being about $80 cheaper than aaw. It’s close enough to be a wash for most. My brother used the aaw on his 68 mustang and I’d say they are Apple to apples. The real value to the painless kit is the instructions that came with it...

    Which wiring harness

The truck is a 73 c20 camper special that originally had a 454 however when I got it it had a sbc 350 bfgoodwrench motor in it, papers in the glovebox said it was installed in ‘91. No idea if the pulley came with it or was from an old stash. It was a factory a/c truck but it didn’t have a...

    Which wiring harness

It’s hard to read at this point but the stamping on it seems to read 3923 898. Anyone that needs one can have it if your ever heading through the Coachella valley. Asking price is a cold beer and a few tall tales.

    Which wiring harness

The alt bracket and 4 belt pulley were on the truck when I got it, no idea on the story of how they came to live on there but they are gone now, in fact the motor in those photos only stayed in the truck for a few weeks after the wiring project. This is how she looks now.

Bushing and ball joint part #’s for 3/4 ton

Looks like I’ll have to look into rockauto. Thank y’all.

    Which wiring harness

Just wanted to update this thread, I went with the painless harness. I can’t say enough good things about it.

Bushing and ball joint part #’s for 3/4 ton

Howdy all, In the never ending rebuild of my ‘73 c20 camper special I’m finally ready to tackle the suspension. I know that ball joints and bushings vary from the 1/2 ton to the 3/4 ton but I’m having trouble figuring out what I need for control arm bushings and ball joints. Does anyone have...

Oil pressure question… or two questions

My old motor (350) sat at the red lights around 7-8psi and around 30psi when moving. The factory gauges aren’t always the most accurate, you might be well off to go with the advise above of testing with a stand alone gauge if your concerned.

    Painlesswiring, American Autowire, or ??????

I just rewired my 73’ C20 with the 28 circuit painless kit. I’ll absolutely go with them again, make sure to take your time reading the instructions (the included book is great) and lay out the harness before trying to run it and it’ll go in easy. If your motivated enough it can be done over a...

    Radiator replacement / repair ideas

I’ve had decent luck with the summit brand all aluminum radiators, I don’t have one in my square yet but I put one in my jeep and it’s been solid, and it’s done great driving around in 120° heat.

    Manual window regulators

Let me know how you like em, I managed to re-adjust and lube my stock regulators to get them working a little better but it’d be nice to have them like new again

    Gauge Rebuild

Not sure if you got the money to burn but if so I can recommend going to the Dakota digital cluster, it’s a big chunk of change but it’ll give you a big Speedo & tack, small oil, water, & voltage. You get a small window in each of the big gauges that by default display time and odometer. There’s...

    Manual window regulators

I appreciate it, my original regulators are working their just not as good as they once were. I might look into classic industries next time I have the doors apart. I’m just hoping that some of the new production stuff is up to snuff, the lmc ones both went into the trash can.

    Manual window regulators

Anyone know a good source for manual window regulators? I had a pair of the Lmc ones fail on me almost immediately after installation and am back to using my worn out stock units. This is for a ‘73 single cab.

    Which wiring harness

It’s probably worth mentioning that I don’t need an OEM style gauge harness as I’m using a Dakota digital dash already (and loving it)

    Which wiring harness

Howdy all, I have a 73’ C20 Cheyenne camper special that I’ve been working on and loving for the last year, my next project is a complete re-wire of the truck as the existing electrical has been spliced to death. I’m looking between the painless kit and the American auto wire. Can anyone...
