    Removing Screws From Aluminum Frame

I'm trying to get the vent windows out of a K5 Blazer side (cap)window and not having much luck. One already broke off. Heard about melting wax but unsure how it, or any penetrating fluid, could get under screw head. Also, wondered how to get heat into screws without damaging the seal. Any ideas?

    Replacement panels quality

I went with Key Parts from FixMyRust. All the body guys I talked to each said they fit the best and were the correct thickness and steel. They told me, to a man, they cut down the time they had to spend making panels fit which lowered their estimates when I agreed to buy the parts made by Key...

Garage hacks/ideas to make life better?

I've found using dry laundry soap gets the oil stains out better than anything else I've tried. Outside driveway got multiple oil stains from contractors van. I cover liberally with the soap powders to about half an inch and leave it. Eventually the rain will wash it away and the stains wash...

    Quad Shocks?

Lots of K5 Blazers came that way. If you go to Rock Auto's website they have them on sale (or did recently) and you can order the correct shocks that way. You can also get their price and Summit MIGHT price match with free shipping on orders over $99. Just thought that might be helpful.

    Factory 83-87 stereo question

Your probably going to burn more than $9 worth of gas driving around looking for them. (Not counting your time.) Is $9 really that big a deal when you need them to get on with your radio installation? Just my opinion.

    Let's talk oil

Funny! When I was growing up and we pulled a valve cover that was all "gunked up" every mechanic said, "They used Valvoline, it does that because its a paraffin based oil." When I pointed out that the guys at the drag strip used Valvoline Racing oil they brought up the fact that those guys were...

TBI to carb swap, will the cruise control still work?

I don't have your answer but since the earlier models also had cruise control could you contact a company like Painless Wiring or some other wiring company and ask them what they recommend? May even be able to call on of the carburetor companies techs to see if they can help. Just brainstorming.

86 454 T400 out of Motorhome with 32,000 miles for $600 "SHOULD I DO IT"

THIS!!! ETA: I would be sure it turns over and even doing a compression check if you want to be really sure. I added this because I bought an engine once because it was too good to pass up only to find out, on tear down, it was junk. But that was the exception. Had friends that got really good...

    Radio Support Strap '88 K5

Anyone have a strap (and possibly factory screws) for a factory AM/AM Cassette radio? I know I can bend one and it'll be hidden but if I can pick up a stock one for a reasonable amount I'd like to keep it as stock as I can. Thanks.

    Anyone seen these?

Those used to be for sale a lot in the '80's. Haven't seen one in a long time. Good find!

    Harbor Freight Flashlights/Batteries

Too funny! I gave them to the grand kids to play flashlight tag with when they came over. They were always getting lost but since they were free I just got more.Never really relied on them for anything serious.

I bought one of those. Threw it in the garbage and my son-in-law dug it out. Says it worked for his purpose but I wouldn't waste my time carrying that POS out of the store. Vibrated like mad!
