    New weatherstripping

I've watched their video's on You Tube numerous times and never could understand why the cameraman stands behind the tech so you can't see what they're doing! :banghead:

What type of grease to use on window regulator?

White lithium. Don't make the mistake I once made. I sprayed one of my truck regulators with chain lube thinking it would adhere better. It worked fine until the weather got cold. Could NOT get that window down in the winter! Nothing but white lithium from now on!

Changing Light Color in Dash Cluster

I had a'67 P/U (gave to son) that had a lime green "glow" when dash lights were on. Truck is blue and I hated the green color. My Pontiac Grand Am had orange lights. When I disassembled the trrucks dash cluster I realized the inside metal shroud was painted that, to me, ugly green color. I...

    Seat belt options

Craig 85, can you tell us where to buy the right webbing? I'm terrible at finding things on the internet...(need an "Internet Searching for Dummies" book.)

Proper process for painting most of your interior parts

Very informative write-up for those of use that are new to painting interior parts. Thanks for taking the time to share this information, especially the proper products with pictures! Now I know where I went wrong in the past!

    K5 Bucket Seat Hinge Repair

bucket, my lever in the back stays in the up position. I lubed it (saturated it), tapped on it liberally and...nothing. So I put it in a bucket and soaked it with PB Blaster overnight, then whacked on it, blew it out with the air compressor, literally soaked it with spray lithium grease...

Waste oil as trailer deck stain

I used to hear of doing this (straight used oil) back in the day. A light coating isn't going to rot the wood and once it soaks in I doubt it'll be slippery either.

    What's in your toolbox?

A mess! HotRodPC, Your a good man. Wish there were more people like you. Matter of fact, you remind me that I need to carry some extra stuff and try to follow your example. Inspiring!

    Ratcheting Wrenches

My battery only has a 3-year warranty. :( What's the deal about Stanley? Are they buying the Craftsman line? What?

    Ratcheting Wrenches

I saw those right beside the Craftsman set I purchased but didn't know what the warranty was and didn't think to ask. Those are about $10 cheaper for, essentially, the same thing. Oh well, live and learn (and waste money.) Story of my life! lol! If you get'em for free at least share the "how"...

    Wrench Racks

HotRodPC, I didn't find these. I'll be getting a few of these as well. Don't want the metal racks due to scratches. The 10-slot Walmart racks worked perfect for the 20-pc. ratcheting wrenches I bought from Sears. Thanks for the link! That's the hard part! Finding the holders that match the...

    Wrench Racks

I watch too much You Tube! Saw a guy saying he made his own wrench racks for less than $3 each with foam from a craft store. As I just purchased the ratcheting wrenches from Sears I thought this might be a good way to start organizing my toolbox. Now I'm not a "craft" kind of guy but I figured...

    Ratcheting Wrenches

HotRodPC, While I was waiting (FOREVER!!) to a salesperson to come to the register a guy came in with a broken ratchet. I actually started shouting out "Salesperson needed at the tool counter, very loudly, and eventually, after they got tired of hearing me yell, a lady came over and rang up my...

    Ratcheting Wrenches

Went to Sears to get a battery and of course had to look at tools while I waited. The guy in the auto department printed me off a $10 coupon for tools over $50. Then when I signed up for a Sears card I got another $10 off a purchase. Found a 20 pc. set of ratcheting wrenches (Chinese of course)...

    Battery choice?

I'm going to throw this out here just to give a another perspective. My son is in the military. When he was an infantryman in Iraq he said the vehicles (HumVees) had Optima batteries and they never had a problem. Now stateside, he works in vehicle maintenance and said the Optimas that used to...

    vortec head 062 please?

MikeB, Are there special headers for the aftermarket heads? I can see cast manifolds having enough "meat" to grind some clearance at the top but not sure what to do about headers.

    Vortec Heads Question

I like the PN 151124 because it comes with the screw-in studs. I'm still in the planning stage. I agree with you on the magnaflux issue! They should have found that right away and informed you of it. Since I'm looking to put these on a truck down the road I think they would be fine. Not...

Need 1987-91 K5 Silverado Interior Parts

Bought an '88 with missing, broken parts. Parts needed are: A/C Dash Cluster trim pc. with brushed aluminum "plate." A/C dash bezel, again, brushed aluminum (Silverado.) Seat hinge for driver's front bucket seat...

    Random stuff

If it is I'll take it. Zip for shipping is 45431 (Dayton, Ohio) And if you run across another A/C Silverado dash trim in brushed aluminum I'd take that also if the price is the same as the last one. :)

Is the A/C dash cluster trim still for sale?

    4WD Alignment Question

I've heard live axles can be aligned by shimming. Is this very expensive and is it really necessary? I've had quite a few 4x4's and never once had them aligned but with the price of tires nowadays thought it might be something to consider.

    Sears Craftsman Scores

Added ratcheting wrenches on sale for $59.99 - $10 coupon when I got a new battery and $10 off for signing up for a Sears card so I paid $39.99 + Tax. SAE and Metric 20 pc. set. (And service manager knocked $20 off battery for price match when reward points wouldn't apply off old card.)...WooHoo!
