What type of grease to use on window regulator?
White lithium. Don't make the mistake I once made. I sprayed one of my truck regulators with chain lube thinking it would adhere better. It worked fine until the weather got cold. Could NOT get that window down in the winter! Nothing but white lithium from now on! -

K5 Bucket Seat Hinge Repair
bucket, my lever in the back stays in the up position. I lubed it (saturated it), tapped on it liberally and...nothing. So I put it in a bucket and soaked it with PB Blaster overnight, then whacked on it, blew it out with the air compressor, literally soaked it with spray lithium grease... -

Waste oil as trailer deck stain
I used to hear of doing this (straight used oil) back in the day. A light coating isn't going to rot the wood and once it soaks in I doubt it'll be slippery either. -

I saw those right beside the Craftsman set I purchased but didn't know what the warranty was and didn't think to ask. Those are about $10 cheaper for, essentially, the same thing. Oh well, live and learn (and waste money.) Story of my life! lol! If you get'em for free at least share the "how"... -

Went to Sears to get a battery and of course had to look at tools while I waited. The guy in the auto department printed me off a $10 coupon for tools over $50. MikeB, Are there special headers for the aftermarket heads? I can see cast manifolds having enough "meat" to grind some clearance at the top but not sure what to do about headers. -

4WD Alignment Question
I've heard live axles can be aligned by shimming. Is this very expensive and is it really necessary? I've had quite a few 4x4's and never once had them aligned but with the price of tires nowadays thought it might be something to consider.- trukman1
