I got a 1974 k10 with a 203 transfer case, turbo 350 and a 355 sbc. The rear gear is 3.73 and at around 55 mph cruising the rpm’s are up to 3,500. That seems a bit high to me, does anyone know what I should do to the truck to get lower rpm’s at 55? I’m also getting 8mpg.
What is the carb to mounting plate torque specs? I’ve been having a vacuum leak and so I tried to torque the nuts on the studs to 3 ft lbs and the studs stripped out and one broke in the mounting plate. The treads for the plate came out with the studs when I took the non broken ones out. I plan...
Okay, I will check the body mounts. I watched a video on replacing them the other day and in the video the guy cut a small square on the floor to get to a nut. Is that something that is required? I’d rather not cut through the floor if I don’t have to.
my 74 full time 4x4 k10s bed is unlevel, on the passenger side it is higher than the trim and body lines ect. The left side looks normal, what could be causing this? It’s not the frame I know that much. Here’s some pictures.
