    5.3 LS TKO 600 Swap 87 C10

For anyone still with me on this build thread, this is possible. I'm not going to say easy... but possible. I cheated and used a hydraulic clutch since my manual linkage turned out to be hanging together by hopes and dreams and I actually pushed the actuator rod through the clutch fork while I...

    5.3 LS TKO 600 Swap 87 C10

Update for anybody watching the thread: So far I have about 90% of the parts for the swap. I just have to finish putting the engine back together and then install all my parts to mate the tko 600 to the 5.3. I should note that the whole point of this build is to be the most fun daily driver...

    5.3 LS TKO 600 Swap 87 C10

do you have a link to the flywheel on AutoZone? I have yet to find anybody that has it but maybe I'm not looking in the right place. Are you using the stock mechanical clutch linkage? any modifications needed to make the linkage work? Thanks

    5.3 LS TKO 600 Swap 87 C10

Yeah it's going to be in the same place, it uses a stock chevy bellhousing so it should be at least pretty damn close. The only thing I'm thinking about is the LS motor mounts are adjustable forward and backward so I have to line them up properly.

    5.3 LS TKO 600 Swap 87 C10

They are manual linkage pedals but the z bar frame bracket was homemade so the geometry is off slightly (at least that's what I am attributing it to). I am using the stock truck bellhousing with the bearing retainer adapter to properly support the Muncie transmission so all of the linkage is...

    5.3 LS TKO 600 Swap 87 C10

Hey guys, I'm undertaking a big project on my first square body and that is to pull the 350TBI with a Muncie m20 in it and put in a mild 5.3 with a TKO 600 AND retain the stock mechanical clutch linkage (I know 87 comes with hydraulics but this truck is a frankentruck). For anybody that's...

Muncie Swap Botch Job Manual Clutch

Wow these are awesome pictures. Whoever sent the link to the website with this stuff big thanks to you too. If I could ask for a close-up of the spring by the clutch fork that would be much appreciated. It seems I only have one spring going from the fork to the frame.

    Adding an o2 Sensor

So I found the wire with the connector tucked away behind the engine in between the firewall. Now I just have to figure out where to add it and how. I can't weld so I found a clamp on o2 **** that you just need to drill a hole in the exhaust to install. Where would you guys recommend putting it...

    Rear Window Sliding Glass

Interesting fix. Do you have any pictures or know of anybody who's done it that. Might have a quick writeup? Thanks for the idea it seems like it might just work

    Rear Window Sliding Glass

The slider works fine and the rear window seal is basically brand new and doesn't leak that's why I'm trying to refrain from buying a new unit but it seems this piece is made from unobtanium. It seems a lot of people are in my predicament I'm shocked nobody makes a replacement.

    Strange Fuel Leak Engine Bay

I was more hoping for a fix along the lines of limp it to an advanced auto parts. The nearest junkyard for me is about 3hrs away and they have no squarebody's. As I said this is my only car as my other car is apart for a fuel pump/regulator/lines job so is there a way to prevent it from spewing...

    Strange Fuel Leak Engine Bay

Yeah I've been trying to work on putting in an o2 sensor since my check engine light is always on bu I don't have a welder. I'll look into that clamp style for sure. Probably won't restore it to the filter since I'm not really sure how it's supposed to work and the added cash right now for the...

    Strange Fuel Leak Engine Bay

So guys, I recently bought an 87 TBI r10 and I got the occasional whiff of raw gasoline from time to time but I always figured it was from running no o2 sensor since the previous owner did headers without the proper o2 ****. Well today I was in a parking lot and I ran in real quick to grab some...

    Rear Window Sliding Glass

Yeah I am trying to find junk trucks with the sliding window but to no avail. Mine is definitely not factory because mine looks nothing like that so I have a feeling finding that center piece will be difficult

    Strange Uknown Fuel Leak

Hello all, So I have been smelling raw gasoline from time to time but I assumed it was from my truck not having an o2 sensor installed until I parked in a parking lot today and when I came out There was a large puddle of gas on the ground. I found that it was coming from this random hose in my...

    Rear Window Sliding Glass

Yes that is the piece that is missing. The windows are a 2 piece that slide out from the middle. I bought a latch in case I find one because I'm not ready to pull the glass yet since it was resealed recently and is in great shape. Sadly in NJ there are next to no squarebody's in any junkyards by...

    Unbelievable Turn Signal Issues

Pulled a long night trying to get my truck back up and running. On the plus side, my problem is Fixed! On the other hand, I'm not sure exactly what caused it. I wired in brand new OEM turn signals/park lights and replaced the turn signal switch in the column and that seemed to do the trick. I...

    Adding an o2 Sensor

Hello all, I have a TBI truck that has been absolutely cannibalized by somebody and one of the things I've realized is that it does not have an 02 sensor since someone put on shorty hooker headers on it. I have not found any wiring for it or any other o2 sensor related hardware so does anybody...

Muncie Swap Botch Job Manual Clutch

The engine mounts are fine. On closer inspection it looks as if the frame bracket is actually bent. Does anyone know where to by another one or is it easy to bend. If you look at one of the pics it seems the angle of the bracket is bad.

Muncie Swap Botch Job Manual Clutch

Hello fellow square body owners, I recently bought my first squarebody (1987 gmc) and it was swapped from an sm465 to a Muncie m20 but it was done extremely poorly. First of all I pulled the transmission shortly after purchasing because it wouldn't shift right (couldn't even find the right...
