Why did my electric fuel pump die?

Will do, once I rebuild or replace the pump. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Why did my electric fuel pump die?

Huh. It is in the vicinity of the exhaust, but still like a foot away. That seems like plenty of room to me...would you disagree? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Why did my electric fuel pump die?

The pump is right next to the fuel tank, so it shouldn’t be working too hard to get fuel. It has a filter between it and the tank, which was installed with the pump (6 months ago) so it should be fine. And if the pump was starving for fuel, I’d assume I would have experienced some sort of engine...

Why did my electric fuel pump die?

I have a 6 month old Mallory Series 110 fuel pump. This week it died. Checked all wiring, fuses, checked the controller (Revolution Electronics controller runs runs pump for 3 sec when ignition in accessory position). Everything seems ok. It’s the pump itself that is shot. Connect the leads...

    Ignition Cylinder

Ha, I was in the same situation except I spent about 30 minutes making a steering wheel puller from scrap metal/hardware, another 20 minutes fixing it after it broke, and then another 15 minutes to drive to Autozone and get one there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Has Anyone Seen These Mirrors?

I’ve got these on my 78. Looks like the truck had the original smaller mirrors and was converted at some point, as referenced by that plastic trim piece. May have even been a dealer option...there are a few things on the truck like that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Refurbishing a grille...with wood

When it comes to flesh wounds, it’s hard to beat WD40’s penetrating action. But for medical reasons I use 3 in 1 oil. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    tonneau covers

Doppleganger Can you open just the flap closest to the cab? I have a toolbox in my bed that’s sits below the bed rails and I frequently access it, so that’s one of my main concerns. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Refurbishing a grille...with wood

My 78 had an original grille and emblem, and they were in rough shape. So I got a new grille and emblem (LMC). Only problem was that the aftermarket grille wasn’t designed to hold an emblem: OEM grille: Aftermarket grille: Replacement emblem and original emblem: So I made an adapter using...

    Bumper guard dilemma

Well that was easy. In case anybody else runs into this issue, here’s what I did: Before. Holes don’t line up. At some point somebody sprayed flat black on the front of the guards, which came off around the edges easily with. Scrub brush and some Barkeepers Friend: Marked where the holes...

    tonneau covers

Sounds pretty sweet. I’m looking for something a bit more functional. Easy access both by the tailgate and by the cab. I’ve got a toolbox, but one that sits below the bed rails. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Bumper guard dilemma

Thought about that, problem is surface area. The side of the pads that mate with the bumper guards isn’t a smooth flat surface, it’s ridged. So there’s actually very little surface area to hold an adhesive bond. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

According to LMC those pads are for 77-80: https://www.lmctruck.com/1973-87-chevy-gmc/front-bumper/cc-1973-80-front-bumper You think maybe the guards are pre-77? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Bumper guard dilemma

Got my hands on a pair of bumper guards. They didn’t have pads, so I ordered a pair through LMC. Just got the pads and they’re not quite plug and play. The pads each have 4 compression plugs on the back, designed to be pressed into rectangular shaped holes on the bumper guards. But the bumper...
