    unjunking the quadrajunk

So I am finally getting around to fixing my carburetor issue. I have traced a number of issues to being possible carb related things and decided to figure out what I'm gonna do about it. So I had a breakdown a while back and assumed it was ignition components so I swapped it all out. I never...

    What to do...

Thanks for this response. I didn’t know replacing the carb with an Edelbrock need this many things. I was planning on replacing the intake too, but I didn’t think there was much more to it. I am totally not opposed to fixing it, but it would be nice to just buy a new one and be done with it...

    What to do...

I am digging up this old thread because I noticed something I hadn't before. My problem has mostly gone away, however when it gets cold I do notice something weird still happening. It usually is only when I start driving. After a while it clears up and drives normally, but it seems to sputter...

    Best sounding squarebody mufflers?

Well I just discovered someone across the street form me died of coronavirus so I'm trying my best to stay home. I'd also rather clamp in the muffler rather than welding it in because I'm not 100% sure if I'll like the sound. I also doubt any local exhaust shops are doing work at the moment.

    Best sounding squarebody mufflers?

I'll look into that thanks! I just realized though, the muffler that I bought is straight and the old one was offset. How can I get it to fit?

    Preventing rusting paint

So when I got my square it had nearly perfect paint with a few rougher spots but still pretty good. I've washed it a few times and both times it has seemed to bring out the rust spots. The paint under the passenger mirror is starting to crack and show a bit of rust brown. On the drivers side the...

    Best sounding squarebody mufflers?

Alright well im going to see what I can do to minimize the buttcrack. Maybe I can bend it back into shape somehow. In the meantime I prefer to clamp on the exhaust since I'm not sure if its the sound I want yet. Once I figure that out I will probably weld it together.

    Best sounding squarebody mufflers?

Well I originally planned to just use an exhaust connector/adapter and some exhaust clamps so that I don’t have to pay an exhaust shop to do it. I still don’t know what the purpose of the buttcrack thing was and why it was there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Best sounding squarebody mufflers?

So I’m supposed to be getting my new tailpipe in today. Two questions, should I paint/coat it in anything to prevent rust? I also would be interested to know what in the world this is inside the input end which I found on both the pipe and the leftover part of the muffler. Sent from my...

    Best sounding squarebody mufflers?

Oh really? I kinda figured they would just go down to the y adapter. If it’s gonna be that much trouble I probably won’t bother right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Best sounding squarebody mufflers?

Well I was considering putting some headers on too. I still have the stock manifolds and I found a pair of headers for an sbc for 25$ on craigslist. I dont think they are stainless steel but most headers are pretty similar right...

    Best sounding squarebody mufflers?

Thanks for the offer but for now I think I'm going to try out the glasspacks. If I don't like it I'll get back to you but I don't have enough room to have two extra mufflers sitting around if I end up not using them. I really appreciate the offer though!

    Best sounding squarebody mufflers?

I know its a taste thing so everyones answer will be different but I am looking for more of a description than an opinion. That way I can decide for myself. And yeah most youtube videos are not helpful because of either terrible mic quality, or different modded exhaust setups.

    Best sounding squarebody mufflers?

I finally got around to sawzalling the muffler off and drove it with open headers to the parts store to buy a thrush muffler. I made friends with one of the guy who works there and it was his last day so he helped me pick one out. I ended up with one of the thrush glasspacks. Only 24$...

    What to do...

I haven't had a no start situation since that one time it broke down. I did replace the fuel filter as well.

    What to do...

So just an update, my problem still seems to be persisting. Either it’s my coil, or it’s not ignition at all. I think it might be fuel related. A few people said maybe when I broke down it was vapor lock, but that wouldn’t explain why the problem gets worse in the cold. And also why it...

    Rejuvenate stainless steel?

Does 3M make it? Where did you get yours from? Was it just a self adhesive backing?

    Rejuvenate stainless steel?

I knew it was form an 80s truck but he cut the light switch to get it to fit in his 76. Either way it is in better shape than the old one. The old one I don't even think had removable stainless steel. How did you get yours off?

    Rejuvenate stainless steel?

Does anyone know a good way to make crappy stainless steel look good again? I thought about spray paint but that seems to simple and I have a feeling it won’t look much better. Some of the stainless steel just wipes off with soap and water especially when I cleaned the vents they are plain...

Did I get the right jack stands?

So I bought these ACDelco 3 ton jack stands and wanted to know why the saddle is a different shape than the 2 ton and 4/6ton models. All of those ones are more flat and this one has a huge dip in the middle. Can they both be used for the same thing? Will I still be able to use them on the frame...

Yeah I thought of that when I made the title and tbh i kinda did it on purpose because it was funny ;)

    Speed nuts?

Alright. I am trying to redo my interior a bit. I am covering my absolutely demolished dash with a black vinyl and contact cement. In order to get off the trim pieces and vent housings there are those stupid little plastic screws attached to the housing, and then metal speed nuts attached to the...

    LMC Seat covers?

So I’ve got the vinyl and cloth seat in my Silverado and I’m wondering whether or not lmc truck sells this particular cover. It looked like they only have the regular vinyl with vertical stripes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    What to do...

No thats the thing I was talking about that the shop wanted to do for me for 158$ a while ago. They said that was their best guess as to what was causing my issue because it could've heated up causing it to die and not start until the next morning when it cooled down. There was almost nothing...

    What to do...

I bought some interior parts from a junk truck. I got a carpet, door panels, seatbelts, instrument bezel (which I ruined), trim and headliner, rear speakers, and door carpet all for 125$. The carpet was great with almost no rips and just needed a good clean. It has one extra hump in the middle...
