Getting all the needed holes in the firewall and still filling the unnecessary ones is on going .. Made up some standoffs to weld to the wall in order to mount the fuse panel .. Moving forward, hopping to getting around to doing the POR-15 and the bed liner soon ...- dragstews

Been very busy under the dash ... Since I did away with the cable E-brake handle gave me room to mount the cruise control module, gear shift decoder box was mounted next to the cruise module and next to it was the key buzzer module .. Needed to nail down those three items in order to see where...- dragstews

Nicely made re-pop .. It's made of black press board, with 1/2 inch jute insulation pad on the side that faces the firewall, die cut and made to fit exactly as original.- dragstews

Got rid of the firewall pad clips that would had been sticking out of the wall .. Welded studs to the wall .. Fuse box, gas pedal and E-brake bracket are next .. Keeping the wall clean in the engine bay is the goal ...- dragstews

Working the firewall is going well .. In the mode of filling up holes .. The repop firewall under dash pad came with plastic push in fasteners .. Meaning the tail will be sticking out of the wall on the engine side .. Since I'm shooting for doing a smoothie firewall, I have a idea of welding in...- dragstews

More new is coming ... The K&N air filter has been on the truck for many years .. It was made for dirt circle track racing .. Being it's reusable, seen many servicing .. Wash, let dry and reoil .. Back to new again .. But it seem to have shrunk about 3/4-7/8 of a inch and no longer sits...- dragstews

Well, I've pumped myself silly trying to get to 19#'s .. Said, self ya got a air hose attachments in the kit box .. Why not put it to use ?? Holding at 19#'s .... Had a dribble at one of the top hose clamps, got a wrench on it and gave it a few more turns cured that .. So far I don't see any...- dragstews

Kool ... Just checked the pressure gauge, still at 15#'s .. No Leaks .. Just for sh*ts & giggles going to add 4#'s more which is the popoff rated pressure of the cap and see if the coolant system blows to kingdom come ?? If it hangs at that pressure I'll keep the 19# cap in play .. The coolant...- dragstews

Hummmmm ?? The cap came with the aftermarket radiator ... Have no clue what it's rated at, has no marking on it .. Back in 1954 the cap that the factory used had a pressure rating of 7 psi .. Nearly 70 years has past since those days and technology has improved with material choices and...- dragstews

Just about done with the work on the radiator .. With acquiring another brace only needed to do one weld .. The front brace was factory welded to the rad. support bracelet, had to weld in a spacer .. Two welds was needed .. That outta do it ... Filled the rad. up with antifreeze, no...- dragstews

Got the starter back on, making up a battery cable that runs though a disconnect switch .. The switch was on the truck when I got it, works the best kills all ... Wiring the whole truck is on the menu ... Looks like I'm going to be under the dash for a few weeks ... The under dash creeper...- dragstews
