Yeah id say thats an advantage. I have an open carport and a measuring tape,LOL. Never done an auto trans though. hope i never have to but i am rockin a 700r4 so whatchout.
The shop thats doing the work has a good reputation for backing their work(which i know has recently bit me in the ass on that motor i have) and gives a 1 year warranty on parts and labor IF THEY INSTALL IT AND PICK THE PARTS. Admittedly They are by far the most expensive shop in town but its...
which sucks cause that sounds like a dream come true. From what ive gathered the trutrac WILL apply 100% as long as both tires are on pavement. The trutrac acts up when one tire is off the ground or unloaded aka...offroad. Also they are designed to unlock when turning and are sold as a Limited...
I clicked the link and they dont show they sell a grizzly for 10 bolt's. I was gonna see what the deal was. So between the two truetrac is still the way to go.
What did you mean by the detroit trutrac not unlocking in turns....I didnt know that was a thing.
i really appreciate the input. After reading some lst night(till 4 am) ive decided Caltracs and QA1's are my best option. Guys are running 7's with them and someone has claimed a 1.4 60ft with them on their website.
Easy on easy off, stock "like" suspension feel for city driving, the qa1's have...
Would the tuff country kit for 3/4 4x4's work on my c1500? they seem to just bolt onto the spring perch. Or are they crap. Thay say "light duty" in the ad so im suspect from the start.
That is exactly what I had in my mind to do since its something I can probably handle at home. What length are you running? is there a ryme and reason to it. I know they adjust but surely have a "proper" placement.
The 4.10s and truetrac are a go!! Yay me!! I'm sure its gonna wake the old feller up a bit. That being the case I'm also sure I'm gonna want/need some sort of "assistance" keeping the axle from shifting/wrapping and mitigating wheel hop. Maybe im over thinking it for 300hp but im hoping to keep...
Soon my friend ...soon. Gears and diff(jan), brakes and suspension(feb-march), Then wheels sometime soon after(ridler 605). Then ill actually be done til something breaks.
See im just the opposite. I want to have control over the front since it is where you "feel" the suspension working and where the telemetry is more variable....though on these trucks you feel it all<LOL. But I see your point on rear adjustment. There are so many options to do a really good...
I have a set of tokico blues still left over from years of building turbo ricers. Damn good struts in my opinion.
Ive had suspension setups that cost as much as the cars they were on. It was usually my first mod to any car I had. Suspension and brakes...then mo powa.
This build is nothing with...
Ok so i read your results and was assuming everything you said already. The Bilstein's would be softer and for a 2wd probably best. If it needed the extra resistance due to 4x4 axles up front I may lean towards the kyb since they are known to be stiffer, however i want the softest ride possible...
Yah i like kyb enough to have put some kyb g2's on about 5 different vehicles. All of them were performance coupes(ricers) with over 300whp though so the ride "smoothness" wasnt paramount. Im hoping the monotubes "monomax" kyb's are much smoother since i found a set of 4 for $200 on rock auto...
Its between the monomax and Bilstein for sure. The cost is still about half for the kyb. Ive put gr2's on about everything from a bmw e30 to a squarebody and think they've done well for what they are. Maybe the monomax is worth a shot.
Ive never had either but I have had a OE gm posi and Im pretty sure the Yukon posi is the same thing. Clutch type that will need adjustments and wear more. I am about to do 4.10's and a trutrac on mine...just waiting on the local off-road shop to open back up, I figure they do them all the time...
Its time for shocks. Want something that really makes a noticeable improvement over stock. Wont be pulling more than a 14ft trailer with a sxs on it. Would like a softer ride considering the horrible roads I drive on. Am leaning toward the Bilstein but have never done more than kyb g2's on a...
Yeah im just waiting on my 700r4 to grenade now that ive added a few more ponies. I am definitely stressing it more now than when it was a 305.
I really hope the warranty covers it friend.
