1986 C10- Is it reliable enough for a daily driver?

I second, third or fifth the price being too high. Nice truck but... I have daily driven an 86 before for 2 years before. its wasnt a 14k truck either...more like a $2500 one(what i sold it for). I guess that all depends on what you need from a daily. mine had working ac and took me where i...

Will this produce the results I want

The pistons have reliefs for the valves but im not sure of the deck height vs top of piston. The heads are on already. It was blueprinted at 8.5:1 before the decrease in combustion chamber volume from 76 to 72cc but i do not know how much the heads were decked when I took it to the machine shop...

Will this produce the results I want

The Goodwrench block I have is the one that claims it can make 260hp with a 4 barrel and dual exhaust. It has 8.5:1 compression with the 76cc heads so i think the pistons are around 8cc relief dishes. It should with my 72cc heads be closer to 9:1 comp or there about. The cam i picked is much...

    Rear end question

Ive yet to see one have the gear ratio listed anywhere other than rpo codes before 1999 year model. After 99 they sometimes stamped the rpo code for the axle on a tag bolted to the diff. Dont know if they did that earlier. Im not a rear end expert or anything but ive had a corp 12 bolt and never...

@Ricko1966 NO i agree. It went too far. I was being a douche and dont mind admitting it. I lost a dog and am just plain volatile. I truly apologize. I know its no excuse but man its the truth. I think they call it deflection where you just put yourself into other shit. I should have been...

I thought the 700r4 1st was a 3.06 and the t350 like 2.52 or something Is the internet wrong again!!?? The TH350's gear ratios are as follows: 2.52:1 for first gear, 1.52:1 for second gear, and 1:1 for third gear. The 700R4's gear ratios are 3.06:1 for first gear, 1.62:1 for second gear, 1:1...

    Smallblock questions,,,,,,,,

yep thats what ive got basically. I remember looking up casting numbers and having little luck. If the summit re-brands were made in other cc i wouldnt know what i have. luckily they only made a 72cc in summit castings. Dart made quite a few variations of the iron eagle ss 007s and they are...

Learning as I go, but I'm stumped. Timing or an ignition issue?

Youll need the timing mark to be at 0 to know you are on tdc. The ignition will happen before the cylinder reaches tdc..say 8deg...or 12...or whatever its set to. as rpm increases so does the timing advance. By 3000rpm your at 30+deg advanced. Matt is telling you how to set the initial for first...

    Smallblock questions,,,,,,,,

they are recast dart heads that summit bought the rights to produce. Exact replica of the 72cc dart 007s. Dart made them in 54cc 58cc 64cc 72cc with varying valve sizes and port dimensions They are basically aftermarket iron double hump heads with all the good work done already(bigger valves...

Learning as I go, but I'm stumped. Timing or an ignition issue?

Not the issue. You are still using the original pushrods right!! "bigger cam" isnt any bigger off the lobe and would adjust the same way as stock. Pushrod length will only change if going with a roller setup because the lifter is taller.

Learning as I go, but I'm stumped. Timing or an ignition issue?

you only get two cylinders per position on crank. 1-6 is the first two...cant remember the other sequence. If you did more than that you definitely are off. I always do mine one at a time anyway but im usually doing ten different things at once so it helps stay on track or this!!!!
