    I think it looks better when the alternator sits even with the PS pump. Is there any reason that would be a bad idea. I know GM put it where it is for some reason but I cant see any reason to leave it that way. Im looking at ITC Billet aluminum

    All of that is hinged on the 10bolt holding up to the torque of a 6.55:1 reduction and your low gearing in the first place. Id be suspect on that lasting too long with any real power being applied.

The first gear is like 6.55:1 compared to the th350 being around 2.65:1. you will get a huge difference in take off from that big of a difference alone.
