    1987 R10 LS swap info

Cool, if you are only planning on running this engine for a little while and it only has 74k, you'll be fine without resealing it. You'll need to send your ECM out to have VATS tuned out (and other things, like rear O2s, EVAP, etc, if you like). I'd check out LT1Swap.com. Brendan over there...

    1987 R10 LS swap info

You will need to swap out the fuel pump for a higher pressure version. I would use the EP381 from the Vortec 5.7L trucks. It is a direct drop in, GM part. You can use your stock 87' tank. I would recommend replacing any rubber lines from the tank to the selector valve with Gates Barricade EFI...

What have you done to your square lately??

Bummer! It really seems like the power steering pumps are hit or miss (mostly miss). I must've been lucky with mine, my initial replacement was good and still going strong 2 years later. Swapping the pulley is a bit of a pain though.

Not a bad job, but always seems to be one of the greasiest, lol.

Older flat tappet cam engines, what oil do you use?

I run whatever oil is cheap that day, but major brand (Valvoline, Castrol, Mobil-1). Plain old 10w-30 or 5w-30. My 87' 305 doesn't burn or leak a drop of it.

IIHS test vehicles at my disposal

Indeed...aluminum block, too. Wish I was made of money, lol. I'd be swapping that instead of my "whimpy" 345HP 6.0L, heh.

TH350 5,800 Rpm trans brake smoked trans

Yep, heard nothing good about Monster transmissions, really. A friend's son had a "500HP rated" 700R4 from them that grenaded behind a stock TBI 350. Not exactly impressed.

Part # for AC-Delco TBI kit with injectors?

If you got that for $125, including injectors, that's a hell of a deal. I spent $200 for new ACDelco TBI 350 injectors alone...

Let's see your broken tool... o.0

I love my air impact, but even that was probably made in China. Friggin' Ingersoll-Rand. Took my LS flywheel bolts off like they were hand tight, though, and it sounds like NASCAR at WOT, so I guess I can't complain too much. I don't think I've ever actually broken a tool yet, though. Knock on wood.

Resurrecting Clifford the big red 87 R3500

You nailed it. TH350 is indeed 2.52, and 2.48 for the TH400. Doubtful you'd notice any difference.

    1985 k5 4x4 5.3l vortec swap

Some of the 862's made by Castech are prone to cracking as well, though much less common than with the 706.

Post your experiences buying auto parts from summit racing and other places

Yep, same here. I also use Amazon for ACDelco, as they seem to have lower prices than RockAuto, and free shipping with Prime (if you have it). You just have to make sure the seller is actually Amazon.

    TBI issue

Get one for after the fuel filter. I bought one of the RVMorse ones that goes by the TBI unit, and it doesn't fit for shit, you have to bend your fuel line all ghetto and leave your ignition coil bolted on with just a single bolt. It was a waste of money.

Ah, I'm at work so the photo is blocked. Bummer that won't work for ya.

Bypass and remove the "height sensing" proportioning valve?

No creative solution required! Check my post above. You literally just have to slightly bend the main line from the frame rail and it will screw right into the rear brake hose!
