What is the trick to working on the driver gas tank?

Use new fuel line, make it longer than stock so you can loop it when you install the tank. That gives you the length needed to attach with the tank lowered, and then when you raise it up, you just push the line into a loop and it tucks up nice and neat.

    TH400 for sale

Chevrolet bell pattern TH400 transmission for sale out of my 88' truck. Shifted well, fluid was nice and clean when pulled from the truck (I am doing an LS/4L80E swap). Short tailshaft version. Bolt on yoke is not included. Hoping to get $250 or so, but it's OBO. Located near Austin, TX.

    TH350-TH400 Shifter linkage difference?

The linkage should be identical. There is some adjustment down by the trans, which you can change by loosening the 1/2" head set bolt that locks the rod from the column into the linkage bolted to the frame. It'll make sense when you see it.

    Tires and Snow...

One of my fond memories from my youth was helping my dad swap out the summer tires for winter snow tires on his 78' Scottsdale C10.

    heater lever issues

So, I finally got around to this a few years later, heh. The weird flapping was the bottom floor vent having a loose screw, but this divert plastic piece was broken as well. I did the permanent fix. You don't need to disassemble the box like this to do it, of course. I just had it apart to do...

What have you done to your square lately??

Got the 350 pulled today. By myself. On an inclined driveway. It was fun, to say the least! :Insane:

What have you done to your square lately??

Started de-cluttering the 350 in preparation to pull it out.

What have you done to your square lately??

Awesome sauce! Looking forward to the after pics. I'm hoping to get started on pulling the 350/TH400 out of my 88' crew.

What have you done to your square lately??

You don't use them by default, only if you need to in order to get proper clearance between the starter gear and the flywheel.

    TH 350 install

They were probably referring to having the torque converter installed correctly. There should be 3 clicks and "drops" as you install it. As long as you didn't use the bell housing bolts to force the trans to the block (i.e. the torque converter wasn't holding up the trans), and you have the...

    TBI wiring harness recommendations?

Check out Howell EFI. They were one of the original companies doing TBI conversions back in the day.

I would personally look into American Autowire rather than Painless. Painless is overrated.

    Ummm is this bad?

Doomsday folks in here... I'd drive it until it dies, especially if it was running fine, not consuming oil, or smoking like a freight train.

How to identify what series frame I'm looking at?

1-ton is taller under the cab, you are correct. 3/4-ton will use a thicker steel in the frame than the 1/2-ton; I'll try and find the measurements if I can. This doesn't apply in your case, but if it's a crewcab, 3/4-tons used a 1-ton frame (and thus have the taller channel).

What have you done to your square lately??

Yeah, I had been putting it off debating whether I wanted to do it on my own (I did my own TBI harness). The LSx is a lot more complicated, and wiring is probably the single hardest thing to troubleshoot, so I opted to let a pro handle it this time around. I may try to tackle it on the Caprice...

What have you done to your square lately??

Ordered the (expensive ass) wiring harness for my LS swap in the crewcab. Now I just have to wait 6-8 weeks to get it... patience is not my strong suit.

fittings for oil pressure and temp gauge on ls swap?

Hrmm, I'm not sure the ECM actually does require an oil pressure input. I've seen plenty of swaps without the OEM sender. I'll have to do more digging. UPDATE: Oil pressure sensor signal is not required by the ECM for operation unless you want to view oil pressure via a Scan Tool. So that...
