Tap head bolt / intake bolt holes on rebuild?

Got the 2 sizes of stainless bolts needed today, and going to chase them tomorrow before a quick assembly for primer. I like the chaser kit linked above too...

Tap head bolt / intake bolt holes on rebuild?

Wow guys! great info. You probably saved me $50, and possibly some (or a lot) of cussing. @Ricko1966 I'm going to give that a try. I've got a great hardware store close that has a good selection of stainless bolts. S/b easy to find in the 2 or 3 sizes I need for sure.

Tap head bolt / intake bolt holes on rebuild?

Hey guys. I couldn't find exactly what I needed in the search, and I'm not positive this is the correct place to put this thread, but I figured it's at lease relevant to the topic sub-section. I am getting my block / heads / pistons / rods / crank / cam back today from the machine shop. In...

Pretty nice looking car. I think that's probably the only Ford I'd buy. Nice color choice.

Where to get Chevy Rally Wheels

I found mine off Craigslist. Just do a search around you for what you're willing to drive. I got luck that a guy an hour a way had them, with centers for $30 each. I offered $25 each for all 8 (4 were 8" wide, 2 were 7" and 2 were 6.5") and he let me pick the best 4 center caps. They all need...

Do you think you could replace a powersports battery with a deep cell/car battery

You could always run a small group size combo battery. I run one of those on my boat for starting (and backup shore power, and a second deep cycle for stereo and air pumps). The boat has a 4.3 V6 engine.

Slightly stiffer coils that dont sacrifice ride quality

I would mirror the previous words of bounce being caused by worn shocks, and add the fact that you have additional weight on the rear when towing. If it was me, I'd start with replacing the front shocks, then give her a ride while towing. Load tongue heavy. Frankenchevy said 10%, and I'd make...

    First square body build !

Welcome from the breadbasket. Looks like a good truck to start with for sure. Are those tie down points fastened to the lower bed sides?

    Front bottoms out

I'm not the most familiar with the front suspension on these trucks, but I don't believe you will be able to add a taller spring (factory) back between the control arms, with a drop spindle. You may be able to, I just don't ever hear of anyone going drop spindle, and stock height springs when...

    2000 camaro ss

Great looking F-Body. Really makes me miss mine. I had a '00 WS-6 T/A That I did a LOT of work to. Started out totalled, but I fixed that. Sold it just before marriage to pay off some debt. Back before camera phones, so not many picutres.

    Front bottoms out

Keep the drop springs, but put stock spindles back on. You can see if there are poly bump stops that are shorter. I had an '01 that was lowered 6" that permanently rode on the factory bump stops. I removed those, and put poly low profile bump stops in their place. After that, the truck rarely...

    Got another project

Correct, it was a National Lampoon Christmas Vacation reference, from Cousin Eddie. Sorry, this time of year, everything I see or hear makes me thing of that movie. One of my favorites, whether it's Christmas time or not.

You should give it away, to me. I'll come get it from you even. Just let me know when... I'm a big Pontiac fan (see my user name??) I've had 4 different grand prix's over the years, and they are GREAT cars. Can't go wrong with the 3800 either. That car looks to be in good shape. Daily it, and...

    Hub centric rings

This is why when I rotate tires, or ever have the wheels off of anything (including when I worked for Ford / Chevy) I would install the wheel with all lug nuts finger tight, then lower the vehicle enough to get the tires to touch a bit, and not spin when I torque the nuts down a little. I don't...

    VW Atlas Cross Sport

Good to know. Also, good to know about the faux wheel stud in the tire maintenance kit. I'll have to look through it again this morning. We're on our way to the great state of TX for Thanksgiving to visit my brother, and we're taking the Atlas. I'll look it over before we leave, and before I...

    VW Atlas Cross Sport

LOL. I'll admit, I was worried about how big of a PITA that was going to be going into the job. I knew they had lug bolts, and not lug nuts w/ studs. The wheels are all hub centric, and they hub sticks out at least a 1/4" so the wheels went back on really easy. Then I just had to spin them a...

    VW Atlas Cross Sport

I finally got around to doing a little work on the wife's new ride. She told me when she bought her new Atlas Cross Sport in June that she wanted the calipers painted. I had some free time last Saturday night, and a fresh bottle of bourbon to keep me company. This is the first time that I've...

Are any sway bar mods needed after lowering?

That looks pretty good. Are those tires taller than factory, or do they just look that way because of it being lowered? Look a bit taller to me, and like they really fill out the wheel wells.
